Saddleback Church Site Not Taking Down Gay Condemnations After All
Evidently Obama did not "change" Warren's mind as naively claimed.

====

We received a nice email from Kristin Cole, the press rep for the Sadleback Church letting us know that they are keeping their anti-gay rhetoric on the church website after all.

Cole writes us:

"I wanted to make sure you were aware that the Q & A addressing homosexuality on the Saddleback Church Web site has not been permanently removed, but rather repurposed for clarity. I know your readers have noticed the change.

Attached is the audio response from Saddleback Associate Pastor Tom Holladay regarding the question, “What Does the Bible Say About homosexuality – is it a sin?” that will be posted later this morning on the site.

Wanted to make sure you were aware of this. Thanks!"

Oh, no– thank you. We're more than happy to let people know that Saddleback still considers homosexuality a sin and that it won't allow gays and lesbians to join their church.

3. That's what we've been told.
We've been told here on DU in numerous threads that Rev Warren had a change of heart because Obama and Melissa Etheridge reached out to him.

6. well the GLBT (HRC?) spokesman on Hardball was making that claim
I thought it was overly optimistic and that Saddleback had just taken it down until the inauguration to try to defuse the controvery.

7. Looks like they're not even waiting until the inauguration.
I would say that that means that they feel empowered by the response to their position.

5. Catapulting the propaganda. Create and event and spin it.
Warren's PR people are some of the best.
