This is an interesting development...

Take a gander (emphasis mine):

Bush E-Mails May Be Secret a Bit Longer
Legal Battles, Technical Difficulties Delay Required Transfer to Archives

By R. Jeffrey Smith
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, December 21, 2008; Page A01

The required transfer in four weeks of all of the Bush White House's electronic mail messages and documents to the National Archives has been imperiled by a combination of technical glitches, lawsuits and lagging computer forensic work, according to government officials, historians and lawyers.

Federal law requires outgoing White House officials to provide the Archives copies of their records, a cache estimated at more than 300 million messages and 25,000 boxes of documents depicting some of the most sensitive policymaking of the past eight years.

But archivists are uncertain whether the transfer will include all the electronic messages sent and received by the officials, because the administration began trying only in recent months to recover from White House backup tapes hundreds of thousands of e-mails that were reported missing from readily accessible files in 2005.

The risks that the transfer may be incomplete are also pointed up by a continuing legal battle between a coalition of historians and nonprofit groups over access to Vice President Cheney's records. The coalition is contesting the administration's assertion in federal court this month that he "alone may determine what constitutes vice presidential records or personal records" and "how his records will be created, maintained, managed, and disposed," without outside challenge or judicial review.

<snip>

White House spokesman Scott M. Stanzel said last week that "we are making significant progress in accounting for the e-mail records stored on our computer network." But he declined to say how many e-mails remain missing or to predict how long the recovery will take because the issue is the subject of ongoing litigation.

<snip>

In the case of the vice president's records, the White House has promised a different federal judge that it will comply with a Nixon-era law requiring the preservation and transfer of all documents related to the vice president's official duties, but the coalition has drafted a filing for the court on Monday that accuses Cheney of subtly seeking to circumscribe the legal definition of what those official duties encompass to such a degree that he will be able to take home or destroy countless documents related to policymaking that historians want to see.

<snip>

Stanzel said the White House is also still "working to acquire" e-mails involving official government business that were transmitted by presidential aides through accounts operated by the Republican National Committee, a problem also first publicized almost three years ago. "We continue to be in communication with RNC officials about recovering official records," he said without offering details. Such records are subject to the Presidential Records Act, which requires their transfer to the Archives at noon on Jan. 20.

This last graph describes (but does not mention and the writers may not even know) what Connell has been alleged to be directly involved in. So forget the plane crash for a moment. Why did Connell make this most recent trip to DC? Was it related to the allegedly scrubbed emails issue? Who did he meet with? These are questions that should be looked at regardless of what the investigators determine occurred with the plane crash. This is the story that some of us having tracking for quite some time. This is the important investigation that must take place. This is why Connell was important, because he was one of the few people who could answer these questions. There are others, a few, but will they be willing to talk now? Anyway, I want to state again - forget the crash for a moment and focus on this part of the story because this is the story of import. These emails must be retrieved if we are to know just what has happened in these last 8 years

1. I knew Scott Stanzel....

...in college. He and I were in many classes together, and I sat next to him in some of them.

It is very bizarre and sad to see that he is a part of this crime syndicate.

I wonder if he is 'in on it' or if he is just a naive mouthpiece who isn't privy to the behind-the-scenes evil.

The guy was an honoralble, decent, sweet guy in college.

2. bush made that fast trip to Iraq. Can't help but wonder about those missing billion$
every time one of the top malAdministration honchos pulls a surprise visit to Iraq. One wonders about the kind of security such people get, along with their extraordinary secret travel arrangements, allowing for moving some big chunks of missing change. It must be getting on to pay-off time for flunkies, or contract time for wet boys.

When was Connell's last trip to D.C. relative to bush's return from Iraq?

6. These missing emails... They are on some server somewhere...
and while Connell would have been able to point us to them, I believe they will surface. Oh, and Cheney's claims of primacy over the records is laughable..

7. Well, I think elimination of the chief witness/perp/potential whistleblower in the
story of the White House/Rove/Cheney/RNC emails is now "the story of import"--or, rather, the two are now inextricably linked. This is too bizarre. The guy who set it all up gets 'small planed'--with a serious lawsuit on this very matter in progress, with Connell having been deposed, and with the transition occurring right now as to White House records? Yes, indeed, what was he in DC for? Who did he meet with? These would be important questions whether or not Connell was now dead. But considering that he is now dead, in yet another suspicious plane crash of yet another threat to the Bush Cartel, the following questions need to be added to any investigation of the 2004 so-called election:

Where is the debris from Connell's plane being taken--and in whose custody?

Who is performing the autopsy--and will there be a second, independent opinion?

Who in the Bush-FAA and the Bush-FBI are in charge of the case (and do they have off-shore bank accounts)? (seriously) (--or other motives, such as they have been spied upon and are subject to blackmail.)

Were all witnesses to the crash questioned? (--many in the neighborhood heard/saw the crash, according to news reports.)

Will all records of the investigation be open to the public?

Will there be a report? Will the report be bullshit?

Have all suspicious circumstances been identified? (For instance, in the case of Paul Wellstone's plane crash, the FBI being on the scene before local law enforcement--an impossibility, as analyzed in the book "An American Death"--or (also Wellstone) were there false initial news reports and who put them out there? That sort of thing--forensic tracking of all associated events.)

Have any flight records, maintenance records, records of on the ground personnel, or other evidence been tampered with or 'disappeared'?

There is already evidence of strong motives for murder, and also, possibly, a pressured suicide (for instance, Connell killing himself to protect his family--according to Cliff Arnebeck, Rove threatened Connell's wife). What other evidence--that might be ignored by Bushwhack federal agencies--can be found, to support (or contradict) a murder or pressured suicide theory of the case? (Logic dictates that, if he was intent on suicide, he would have gone out over the ocean, or into some uninhabited area--and wouldn't have cut off his engine over a neighborhood, on his landing path. However, a pressured suicide is not necessarily thinking logically.)

Would his own records--calendar, phone records, etc.--reveal who he met with in DC? Does his wife, friends, colleagues or any others know what his purpose was in DC? Also, what WAS his culpability in the 2004 election or in other crimes (the 5,000 'disappeared' Rove emails)? (--could be important in sorting out murder/pressured suicide.)

Is anyone else at risk (and how to protect them)? How to get information in this circumstance (fear)?

It certainly does not surprise me that the 2004 election story is now dramatically concluded with a small plane crash of THE most important figure on the technical end of that notorious event. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other bodies along the way. That election was a set up for fraud--particularly electronic fraud--but the fraud set-up was not limited to Ohio. It was nationwide, and many people were involved, including some of our Democratic leaders (for instance, Christopher Dodd, who colluded with felons Tom Delay and Bob Ney to fast-track 100% non-transparent voting systems all over the country during the 2002 to 2004 period; Terry McAuliffe, DNC chair, who helped to keep ordinary Democrats stupid about the new voting system; Bill Richardson, who stopped the recount in New Mexico; CA state legislative Democrats who colluded to drive Sec of State Kevin Shelley out of office, after Shelley sued Diebold and demanded to see their source code, six months prior to the 2004 election; many corrupt election officials, often Pukes, but not all--and many others.) It "all came down to Ohio" but how/why was it that close, with exit polls showing a 3% to 6% Kerry edge nationwide? The fraud was aimed at it "coming down to Ohio" where Rove had an exceedingly corrupt Puke political machine in place to guarantee a 'win' there. What happened up to that point, and where are the other 'bodies buried'?

18. Not utterly impossible, ust unlikely
in the case of Paul Wellstone's plane crash, the FBI being on the scene before local law enforcement--an impossibility, as analyzed in the book "An American Death"

Not a pure impossibility. On the one occasion I was a hostage, the FBI was on the scene before the local police. Of course that was because the disgruntled nut with a gun failed to note beforehand that the office he wanted to hold hostage was located in the same building as the local FBI field office (they had some claims to jurisdiction too given that the office in question administered a federally funded program. FBI 1, Nut With A Gun 0).

Though I agree: FBI agents and field offices are not so common that every time an aircraft falls from the sky an agent just happens to be right there, and too much coincidence requires some explaining.

17. Yes, I'm hoping that, too. He was aware that he was in danger. That's clear
from various reports. It would make sense that he would do that--write letters, write a will, write a confession--in case they got him. (Pressured suicide, though, might mean that he would NOT do that--presuming that it was suicide to protect his family. He would want to make the danger to them go away--the danger being his knowledge of how Rove & cabal stole the 2004 election and other crimes.) It also seems likely, from the reports of people like Arnebeck and Alexandrovna, that Collins may have been contemplating becoming a whistleblower. And the more evidence there is for that, the more likely it was murder (which also would make his posthumous disclosures more likely--he was going to tell all; he knew how dangerous that was; so he wrote it up in case of his death).(?)

I think Arnebeck and Alexandrovna know quite a bit more than they are saying at this point. We have to await their discretion. They have a lot of things to worry about right now--getting the truth about this death (preventing a whitewash), protecting other witnesses (and getting them to speak the truth despite fear), what this death does to Arnebeck's RICO case on the 2004 election, protecting Collins' family, protecting themselves). Arnebeck wrote to AG Mukasey some time back, telling him of Rove's threats against Collins' wife. Arenbeck and others, too, likely had some contingency plans in place in case this happened. I hope they did.
