Then I thought about it and remembered that most if not all government employees have 20 years of service and out. My late father retired in his early 40's after 20 years of being a letter carrier. He never made the kind of money I did but he wasn't much for working overtime either. 40 hours a week was enough for him. He ended up with better medical insurance than I have too. I have always had to pay for all my doctors office visits with my Ford Blue Cross PPO but his were always covered under his government Blue Cross PPO.

As I said almost feeling guilty.

Don

2. yeah - but unfortunately for them with inadequate
health insurance and a substandard level of living, people will start to die younger. Oh the poor repubs.... they won't have enough peons to do their dirty work... I feel so sorry for them.

OP.. NEVER feel guilty about what is rightfully your! You worked for it. I'm glad you came to your senses. ;-)

3. Why do you think the right wing supports the churches
In striking down abortion and birth control?

They want extra births to replace the ones they kill off.

6. yeah, I guess we
should all just die off at about 55-60 years of age. That would save them all a ton of money!

4. A Letter Carrier?
Under what retirement plan does a letter carrier retire with 20 years service, at the age of 40? Disability?

The minimum retirement qualifications for Civil Service Retirement are 55 years of age and 30 years of service. The requirements under FERS are even higher.

7. I was only a kid when it happened but he did have a heart attack in his late 30''s
It must have been a medical retirement now that I think more I about it.

Wish he was still around so I could ask him what the situation was.
