Our President-Elect spoke before Congress, the Pretender has his butt caught in a crack and is spluttering impotently, Dems control Congress and its Committees and are jonesin' for some subpoenas -- things are definitely starting to thaw.

Then I look at the calendar and it's the First Day of Spring!!

It was a good day. Heard a redwing blackbird singing and saw a picture of Smirky dripping flop sweat.

2. We were outside all day...wonderful!

Heard some persistent tap-tap-tapping. It was a couple of birds we didn't recognize at our "wreath" of peanuts, one of them hanging upside down pecking away. Turned out to be downy woodpeckers. Darling birds...we had two, both female. My sister bought a big bag of cheap apples nearing expiration, and we have put them out for our new spring friends.

Ahhh. spring.
