Seasons of Change - Yet another Warren Post
Yes - another Warren Post (ducks at other DU'ers throwing things at her). . .

I thought the election was about change. And I thought we were going to bring about change from within. What I don't understand about Warren 'preaching' at the Inauguration is . . . how is CONTINUING to give the Theocratic Religious Right a seat at the table the change we seek from within - or - without?

Let's look at the Bush Cabal's SUCCESFUL push to bring the Religious into the Secular: Faith Based Initiatives. To date - Millions of dollars have been given away to churches to press their belief systems on communities in need. A quick visit to Theocraywatch.com gives us all the links we need to see/verify this to be true. Ralph Reed and his ilk are still getting their way. Yes, it's childish of me to say, "Getting their way" but the reality is - it's true!

And what have their ways gotten us? What has their poor judgment done to our country. They HAD their Religious Right Wingnut President for 8 Years. Other than trying to bring about the so-called prophecy in Revelations and putting America in the poor house as a result - how has anyone in America benefitted from their ideology? Even they have to admit - when they had their Theocrat President and Majority in the House, they were unable to overturn Roe v. Wade.

While they were reading A Purpose Driven Life - I discovered Marianne Williamson. She gave us a wonderful book title The Gift of Change. It's not just about personal change - it's about the World Changing.

Here's a beautiful quote: Whenever our outer world remains stuck, it is incumbent upon us to look, not outward, but inward. It is a call to find the places in ourselves where we are holding on to old ways--places where we blame others rather than taking personal responsibility for our woes; where we judge others instead of blessing them; where we are hard rather than vulnerable and open and kind. These issues hold the hidden keys to unlocking our unsolved personal mysteries."

Holding onto old ways: Continuing a 30 year push from the Evangelical Right to press/shove down the throats of other's their agenda. Their so-called persecution. Hey! It's Christmas! Has O'Lielly Pushed his War on Christmas story yet?

Place blame on others rather than take responsbility for ourselves: If you are a Leftist, a Progressive, a Democratic Socialist, an Anti-Theocrat, a Liberal . . . we have only ourselves to blame for allowing them to get away with murder for all of these years - and not holding our President Elect's feet to the fire about who his base is, where we live 'in our hearts', and not bringing about the change we sought by Yelling From The Rooftops: You're Wrong!

Where we judge others instead of blessing them: Rick Warren has his place in our country and value: It's at his pulpit with his 'followers'. I bless them, release them and move on. They have every right to believe what they do within the walls of their Church. They are NOT however entitled to have a pulpit at the Secular Table.

Where we are hard rather than vulnerable and open and kind: I kindly release Saddleback Church and their insidious slithering in on his belly forked tongue Pastor to their beliefs. Out of love for ALL Americans who do not follow their belief system and who are indeed the majority in this country who just 'got their way' in November - I remain open to them following their belief system behind closed doors.

Of all the Religious/Spiritual Leaders in this country - Why this man? And what change does he represent. The Religious Right does NOT need a platform. They had theirs for 30 years with a high emphasis beginning in November 1994 . . . and HYPER emphasis with the entrance of Bush Co. into the White House.

Why not Marianne Williamson? Why not a woman truly DOES believe in the inclusion of all people, love is the answer, community is the answer, forgiveness of others - and who wrote a beautiful book about the (my interpretation from having read it) influence of 'Blind Christianity' and how it has harmed The World.

Why not Ilyana VanZant? A woman who writes/speaks/preaches - Kindness, respect, love for oneself. Maybe if Bush had been exposed to her - we wouldn't have had a wingnut in the White House who believes the Bible is a History Book.

Why not Deepak Chopra?

Margaret Starbird? The truth about The Woman With the Alabaster Jar.

Why not Reverend William Sinkford? The President of the UU Association? I know one thing - I know my "church" is open and affirming. I know that we look to science and reason over fables. I know that ALL Human Beings are created equal in my church. . . so President Obama - why not the Good Reverend Sinkford? You want healing? You want to bring us together? It would tell the Religious Right - Those UU's aren't going away. You can send one of YOURS into a UU Congregation in Tennessee during a children's summer program performance of Annie and have that individual at the behest of YOUR version of God open fire . . . but they aren't going away.

Look up. That's it. I've posted several times about two groups that supported Obama/Biden by showing up to the polls being pushed out (Women and GLBT communities). I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Republican in ANY UU Congregation. From a J/C perspective? Most of us ONLY follow the actual words of Yeshua/Jesus in the N.T. St. Paul :puke: is to be dismissed and Revelations happened 1900 years ago.

Maybe the change need is a push from the Religious Left who believe by and large: Government Stays out of our business, We stay out of Government - but if you need someone who is Spiritual But Includes EVERYONE regarless of race, religion, creed, sexual imprint by birth, etc. etc. to speak at your event - give us a call. As long as you do no harm to others - you are aok by us.

So - Got Change? Where's my shift as we enter The Age of Aquarius and the Seasons of Change for humanity - not just Americans?

1. As far as I remember..
from the campaign..so long ago...'change' was supposedly going to come from the 'bottom up'. I kind of knew that was never going to happen. Inviting all of the various divisions to the table was supposedly going to unite us. It is all ridiculous. There is no 'we the people'. There is no "United" States. If the change 'we' seek is up to 'us'...well...we can see how fucked we are, just by reading posts on a little "Democratic" message board. No one really wants the 'change' Obama spoke of. People only want the change they want, and they want it now..via a prayer or a cabinet pick.

2. Everyone sitting at the table?
Not everyone CAN sit at the table. Because a lot of people have been aliented . . . A lot. I'm saying point blank - I don't want the Religious Right at the Table AT ALL anymore. Their judgment, and their President who you can view on Frontline saying, "God told me to run" -

Well - their judgment is PROVEN to be off/wrong/misguided/without merit. Oh - and the way they've alienated people? That tells me they need to 'be quiet' - their way was wrong.

3. No kidding...unfortunately..
they are Americans. I prefer there be no table, and this country own up to what it is. The divided states, with umpteen divisions of "I the people". That way everyone can get into their little boxes with their label prominently displayed, and live happily ever after.

4. It is what it is
It's start when we are young. People are tribal by nature. It's not just an American thing either . . .
