Just feeling numb and disconnected. Anyone else?
Eight years of Bush/Cheney. Endless lies.
A number of family deaths to deal with the past two years (two fathers, uncle, aunt, cousin)
Layoff from my job of 25 years in May of this year
Endless string of bad economic news
All the passion about Obama - working to get him elected, elation, let down afterward trying to figure out what to do with all the spent emotion
Continuing Bushshit - last minute regulations, etc.
Warren thing

It's all too much - going into this holiday numb and nearly comatose emotionally.....

7. It's cold on the Island?
That IS a bummer. It's 63 degrees over here in Richmond County.

14. Ocracoke is our favorite place in the world. We can't wait to get back.
Hope the weather improves for you! We spent a Christmas there some years ago and it was magical.

3. The Democrats once again SCREW the liberal wing of the party in favor of religious wing-nuts
and corporate whores from the GOP.

This centrist bullshit is just a slower continuation of the "Ponzi Scheme" to transfer ALL the wealth to the investor classes.

We're (The American taxpayers within the NON-investor classes) are getting financially FUCKED but the rapists are speaking softly and soothingly as they hold the KNIFES to our throats. :grr: :nuke:

5. That's right. We should not have expected anything different, though.
I am not too disappointed, as I didn't really expect anything would change.

8. Smack!!
For the first time ever, a two faced Fundie who is to speak at a presidential election is being challenged.

That's what I call a big Change. And it's Obama's fault. And your's, and other's.

4. Problem was many of us are/were hanging to "sanity" by a thread
there just is not a lot of room for disappointments, and Obama has disappointed in almost every decision he has made. As it stands now, I am not an advocate of Obama. If the vote were today f course I would vote against McCane, but I have lost my passion for his bullshit message.

6. I'm feeling more hurt than numb, but
over the last few weeks, I have felt numb at times too.

Thank you for including the Warren thing in your list of horrible things to deal with. It means a lot.

12. The Warren thing was the last straw, and worst of Obama's decisions.
I've had many arguments from friends who don't get it. I get it, however.

9. It is a big come down, that's for sure.
I've had my own issues lately so haven't been as enthusiastic as I was, been more focused on my own life. Not sure that helps either.

*sigh*

10. I don't know if it's numbness so much that I experience; rather it's a removal
of strong emotions when reading about/thinking about politics. I'm responding far less emotionally to political issues, and using my analytical skills more. Where it used to be say 80% thinking and 20% emotion, it's become 95% thinking and 5% emotion, roughly.

13. Does the day end in Y?
I wish I could feel more numb but that would require alcohol and I'm not supposed to drink.

15. Yep. Many people get involved in political action because of their love
of contest and politicians. I get more involved for my dislike of both when things are going badly and off course. I miss a regular life and regular, settled happiness.
