Has anyone else (on ACORN's) mailing list) gotten an email purporting to be from ACORN

That just has your first name in the body?

It came from this address:
<ACORN>[e-mail]

I found it creepy.

I also received, at about the same time, an apology from ACORN for some kind of email sent in error, although not the one I described above.

Someone hacked their email list, maybe?

1. Yeah..I got the same thing..

but the apology email said this...
"We extend our sincere apology for the email below, which was sent from an ACORN account earlier today. This message was not intended to be sent. We are investigating how this mistake occurred so that we can prevent something similar from happening again. "

and I didn't get the original email they were apologizing for, I don't think. I just got the apology and the creepy one.

4. Huh. Maybe the creepy one had its origin with the same person/people.

What bugged me about it was that it had my first name. It's not in my email address, so it had to be from some database.
