I get it.
I've been looking at this whole Warren mess and partially thinking:

"Okay, look, the dems won the election, so now America can start to repeal torture, restore the constitution, etc. So why do people have to freak out over this one issue SO much? I mean, imagine if you had the rethugs in power; then there would be this PLUS all that other crap to worry about."

But then it occurred to me: "That's the whole point! If ever there was an administration that might listen, that SHOULD listen, it's this one. If people don't speak up about it NOW, when will they? The next time the repugs win? HA! I'd like to see that!"

I get it. Civil liberties are non-negotiable, and this is exactly when we should be talking about them.

Obama is a politician; he is all about crafting compromises. If you make it clear how important this issue is to a lot of Americans, he and those close to him may get the message.

Thanks for your tenacity.

1. "Civil liberties are non-negotiable"
Couldn't say it better than that!

The bedrock of any free society.

4. Yes, very well said.
Civil liberties simply cannot be compromised.

3. Exactly. And the fact that Obama chose to HONOR this man with this, is shocking to me....
.... most assuredly in the heels of this massive, expensive Proposition 8 in Calif., Amendment 2 in Florida, and the amendment in Arizona, all aimed to deny gays civil rights, and all supported EXTENSIVELY by Warren.

And with all the incredibly talented Democrats, WHY IN HEAVEN'S NAME is there a need to ONCE AGAIN bring in Republicans? Haven't we had Republicans for decades? Haven't they f*cked up our country enough already?

This is turning out to be a great disappointment.
