6. I agree, their pay should be at least doubled if not 3x or 4x
They have to maintain two homes, on in one of the most expensive cities (plus suburbs) in the world, there are extensive personal travel requirements, it is an extremely important job, and if we paid them enough we could outlaw outside perks that buy influence.

9. Agree, you wouldn't see as many of them jumping back and forth in lobbying
to make more cash too.

3. Been On A Fixed Retirement For 13 Years
no raises in that time frame. I want Congress on the same retirement plan and SS benefits plan I'm on.

7. They're to wussy to vote themselves pay raises
In 1989 they passed a bill calling for automatic pay raises, unless specifically voted down. They just ignore it and receive a pay raise without even the embarrassment of voting themselves the raise.

8. Un-fucking-believable. After the routing they've been giving anyone who works on Wall Street,
demanding they accept one dollar a year or cut their salaries and bonuses?

And in the role Congress has played in allowing the financial debacle to happen in the first place.

What a goddamned disgrace.
