Media sees logs of Blackwater shooting, now thinks Blackwater is innocent
Blackwater radio logs revealing

WASHINGTON — Radio logs from a deadly 2007 shooting in Baghdad cast doubt on U.S. government claims that Blackwater Worldwide security guards were unprovoked when they killed 14 Iraqi civilians. The transcripts of Blackwater radio reports describe a hectic eight minutes in which the guards repeatedly reported incoming gunfire from insurgents and Iraqi police. Five guards face manslaughter and weapons charges for their roles in the shootings. A sixth has pleaded guilty. Prosecutors said the men unleashed a gruesome attack on unarmed Iraqis, including women, children and people trying to escape. But the radio logs from the Sept. 16, 2007 shooting suggest otherwise. Copies of the logs were turned over to prosecutors by Blackwater.

This is "Iraq can destroy us in 45 minutes" all over again.

Let's just be clear on this, Blackwater released TRANSCRIPTS of what happened that day, they released copies of logs of radio reports. It's not pure evidence. Where is the actual radio recording at?

The media is in the tank for Blackwater apparently, let's hope the prosecutors for this case throw this thing Blackwater calls evidence out.

1. Copies of logs

Logs of radio calls

Those are not "evidence" - it they turn over the actual audio of the radio calls, then the tapes would be evidence (after verifying that they have not been altered.)

The transcripts/logs could have been created and altered, never know till you check them against the audio, if the audio contains what they say, they would have turned them over to the feds, imho.

2. If you think this is that simple, I disagree
I am no fan of Blackwater, but they probably were being fired upon by people in the crowd of civilians.

3. I said the logs are not evidence.
If you want to argue about the moral justifications they had in killing civilians, got find someone else to argue with.

There are plenty of threads you can post in if you want to bicker, go pick one.

The logs are not evidence.

4. Even tapes would not be determinative....
Ask the Vets here if they've ever heard false reports of "taking fire" being called in....sometimes those calls are confusion and other times ass-covering.

5. I agree with you.
I also doubt there are audio tapes as those would have already been circulated.

The journalists that are changing their minds are not too bright, I wonder if it is more than just the person the wrote the article.

6. "See? Right there on page 3 . . . "
"They're comin' right at us!" With an exlamation point. Case closed. Blackwater exonerated.
