For those of you who support the legalization of marijuana...
What is your opinion on Democratic Constables/Sheriffs/County Attorneys/District Attorneys/Justices of the Peace/County Judges/District Judges/Federal Judges/Mayors/Governors/Attorneys General/Presidents who enforce the current law on marijuana possession/selling?

This is an open-ended question and there is no right or wrong answer ...

2. If you're a judge or a law enforcement officer...
it's your job to enforce the laws on the books. Period. Shitty, but true. A sheriff can have some pull on this, telling his deputies to not bother with arrests for small amounts of marijuana, but in general, I don't see how police and judicial can really do anything about this. It's up to congress.

because they smoke it. They just caught the one of the judges involved in the anna nicole smith trial smoking a joint in his car a couple of days ago...A lot of the republicons smoke it but they won't legalize it because they are afraid that they will lose the christian right wing...

14. I'm aware of the case...
after all, I live in the same county in Florida. And the point's certainly well taken. That said, it's worth pointing out that many police depts. have random drug tests, so hypocrisy can only go so far in this regard. And that said, it certainly doesn't limit the little hypocrisies of everyday cop life (flagrant disregard of traffic laws, for example).

3. I think they would prefer for an 18 year old kid
caught with a joint to endure the stigma of a criminal record for the rest of his/her life, with all that entails, than run the risk of being called soft on drugs. In other words I think they are the worst kind of political coward.

4. No Problem With It. It's The Law And It's Their Job To Enforce It.
It's the concept of it being law to begin with that requires some deeper analysis.

5. They are sworn to uphold the laws of the country ...
i don't want people selectively enforcing anything. Hopefully those that are opposed to these (harmful) laws make efforts to change them.

6. You don't always get good choices in local elections
at state level and higher at least you know that voting against the Republican is the correct course of action.

9. I think most of them are stuck between
a rock and a hard place. And I see a lot of selective enforcement.

11. I think they should help legalize it.
If you can talk candidly with ten cops, nine will say it's stupid that pot's illegal. However, that isn't necessarily how they vote.

12. The real name for the War On Drugs
Should be: The Law Enforcement Officer's Wage and Employment Support Act

Because that's the actual effect.

15. I getting sick and tired of voting for people that want to ...
throw me in jail. I just wish other pot smokers would feel the same and demand change. There are enough people out there that smoke pot that could form a substantial voting block.
