Watching Gore speak off the cuff is a thing to behold.
I'm stunned that our country preferred dumb instead of smart.

3. No Kidding. It is so refreshing and I can't believe so many people have been able
to think for one second that Bush is a better or brighter man.

5. also, he's gotten better at it
It was overblown and unfair, but his speaking style used to be more stiff than it is now. He comes across much more relaxed and sincere now than before (when I found him sincere, but stiff).

13. I disagree with that...
I've followed his career since he was a Congress Critter. I think the stiff thing is totally MSM manufactured.

20. I heard him speak in person twice during the 2000 campaign
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 03:17 PM by Divernan
and he was much more relaxed and personable than he was during the debates of the same time period. And I followed those closely since I was working hard on his campaign. When I heard him in person on one occasion, I was about 15 feet away from him at a rally. Today his presentation was the best I've ever heard him and absolutely stunning - I've never heard anyone better.

23. yep. I thoght he was much better in 2000 than when he ran in 1992
I used to lobby him when he was a member of the Senate Commerce Committee. In person, he was very warm and relaxed. But in those days, when he got up on a dais, he tended to not to convey that same warmth and relaxed demeanor.

27. I agree
It's actually the incorporation of thoughtful pauses into his speaking that chops up the flow somewhat. He's gotten better with his timing, though, and now uses the pauses for effective emphasis.

6. I'm crying.
Gore has a very good mind. * would not even know where to start in a discussion like this other than making a stupid joke.

Why did the people let this happen?

:sarcasm:

It's stunning to watch Al G. or Bill C. speak about most things. If I tried to keep half as much information contained in my skull my head would explode.

21. Yeah, I can't believe how many people fell for that
I actually know some people who thought that was a great idea. I guess they just thought, "National debt? Pfft. Who cares? I'm gonna buy me a foot massager with my three hunnerd!" (hat tip to David Cross.)

12. To be fair
Anyone that can string two words together without fumbling is better than what we have now, HOWEVER, Gore is an exceptionally smart man.
It is a thing of beauty to see that after suffering through idiot-boy.

17. They didn't prefer dumb
And they still don't.

He won in 2000- popular and electoral (if all legal FL votes were counted)
Kerry more likely than not carried Ohio except for illegal acts in 2004
2006 they voted for an entire Democratic National Sweep.

Despite a near total media blackout of the truths that we here take for granted.

There are many deluded frightened people that still cling to the lies that soothe them. But the majority are waking up and I have hope.

I keep thinking, lord, what might have been..... Listening to pukes like Inhofe in the same room just magnifies what the country and the world lost when 2000 was stolen from us. Damn...

19. I was lucky enough to hear Gore
speak at a special showing of "An Inconvenient Truth" last year. He took questions from the audience about a variety of subjects and he was so thoughtful and so sincere...not to mention funny and candid. I turned to the person with me and said "how great would it be to have a president who has original thoughts and can articulate them beautifully?" What a treat!
I would love to see Al run again.

25. Actually our country DID prefer Gore...
by over 1/2 million votes. It was the rethug planted Supreme Court that preferred the village idiot from Texas.

I'm stunned that Shrub gets ANY support from anyone! Who are these 30% that still thinks he's doing a good job (per recent opinion polls)? What planet do they live on?

26. I know, who ARE these people?
Sometimes I think they only exist in the fictional world of the MSM, but then I see a W sticker, and then I see the nightmare is real! But Man I'm misty thinking about Gore and how he was stolen from us, from the world. He is such a great man!I hope they will air the hearings again tomorrow morning like they sometimes do on C-Span, for I don't get C-span 3 on my Dish, and I have Dial-up, so online it's such a pain! I heard a portion of his testimony on the radio, but it wasn't enough. Al- we must have you- please run-cuz you will win!!!!!!( again!))))
