If Gore enters the race late...
And he's a write in candidate... wouldn't that force everyone to hand count the ballots?

:)

1. Maybe, but I'm hoping he DOESN'T run.... the snide and nasty
Republicans I've seen today (Inhofe, in particular) won't show him any respect and perhaps will be even MORE vicious.

He's too smart to lose his dignity to these f*cks.

7. Not just the Republicans; the Press would eat him for lunch
Just like 2000. I think he'd be a great president, but I find myself hoping, for his sake, that he stays out of it.

9. Let them be vicious. He's tough.
There is noone better to lead us in opposition to these parasites on the ass of humanity. Noone.

The fact that he has "returned" as a strong leader is (primarily) what makes me believe he WILL run... He's Gandalf the Grey turned to Gandalf the White, and he has come back to us now at the turning of the tide as a politician who is above politics. They tried today and will continue to try to bring him down to their level, but being so far above them in character, strength of will and mind, he will not falter or fall. He is stronger than ever he was, and he knows what to do.

2. If he enters, he won't enter so late as to be a write in candidate.

5. If he doesn't enter the race
I'm sure he'll have a position in the Democratic administration.

6. My guess is that he'll enter in September sometime...
... after his global warming benefit concert tour. If he announced before then, that would complicate his appearances and efforts to work with the tour much, given the restrictions he would have as a candidate then. Now he's more free to do what he wants at those shows and perhaps maximize their impact. Waiting until September I think won't hurt him and can only help him in the race too I think. Coming off a successful concert tour like that with other issues maximizing their impact then, I think he could jump in and jump to the top of the list of Dems then.

I also wouldn't mind having that be a nice birthday present then too!

12. The primaries won't have even started yet then! The DLC might want that though!
I'm sure they'd like a candidate from their ilk be "preselected" before the primaries start, or at least all of the finalists be "preselected".

The main deadline Gore needs to be concerned with is making sure he enters before the deadlines of getting on all of the ballots for the various primaries come up. He certainly has the name recognition and the likely sponsors, etc. he needs to start at a later date otherwise.
