1. My cats and dogs eat nothing but dry food.
I checked the website and it seems that the recall applied to wet and those pouch foods. Is that your understanding?

3. Yes, it's cans and pouches - anything with gravy might be affected.

9. I think it depends on the particular company...

Since my beagle (Stewie) eats Purina and Mighty Dog, I checked out their website. This is what I found.

"Nestlé Purina PetCare Company today announced that as a precautionary measure, it is voluntarily withdrawing its 5.3 ounce Mighty Dog® brand pouch products that were produced by Menu Foods, Inc. from December 3, 2006 through March 14, 2007..."

"Importantly, no Mighty Dog canned products, or any other Purina products are affected by Menu’s recall."

2. It looks the same to me. What was added?
And still no Nine Lives or Friskies, thank God.

4. Yes, Suddenly, Iams came up and guess what? A couple of cans of the
Chicken in Gravy which I thought was OK, is now NOT OK!!!

The Iams website has pictures of the cans and pouches and all the info on the codes involved.....

Thankfully, I use dry California Natural with just the occasional "meaty goodness" on top as a treat.....When I say "meaty goodness" my three go NUTS!!

7. I called Iams at 1-800-882-1591. I was on hold for maybe 15 minutes and

then got a live person. I will be getting a refund check in 2-3 weeks. They said to throw the food down the drain; they don't want the food to wind up anywhere where it can harm another dog.

The man was in N. Dakota. Very nice, said he was glad my dogs were well.

5. For once, happy with OLD STOCK
I took back the cans I had, meat and gravy, from that same plant even though the serial numbers were much lower.

I kept the non gravy ones; lower serial numbers, different plants.

8. I'm telling my clients to play it safe and not feed ANY
cuts and gravy type food AT ALL. Regardless of brand or flavor or lot number!

Not worth the risk at this time.
