If the union workers are hurting America's auto industry, why is Ford doing fine?

As I understand it, the bridge loan is for GM and Chrysler. Ford doesn't need the loanLos Angeles Times.

Am I understanding this correctly?

According to the GOP-controlled media unions are hurting car makers, except Ford.

What am I missing here?

2. No, Ford was at a quarter
a while back. They plummeted first. I don't know why it hasn't been discussed lately, but all 3 of them had been looking for money not too long ago. Ford might have decided they could hang in there until next year.

4. Ford can wait until this spring with a friendlier environment.. but they will
need money.. especially if they will all be re-tooling with mass transit.

5. Fact is every foreign automaker has asked for a bailout from other governments
Yet ours were the only ones to get denied.

It is such bullshit, just an excuse to kill unions and drive wages down.

Toyota exec seeks 40 billion euro loan from EU

Automakers in other nations get more government help

Facing a Slowdown, China’s Auto Industry Presses for a Bailout From Beijing

Automakers in Europe also look for bailout

Most of these articles were written last month and all of them since then have been rewarded with loans from their governments.

7. Ford needs the help too
They just don't need it immediately. Ford is the healthiest of the Big 3 and can at least make it a few months without assistance. They'll likely need help eventually, which is why they are asking for an "open line of credit."
