...your exercise of certain rights and privileges, and restrain you from certain ordinarily legitimate actions, until a full determination of innocence or guilt is made.

If law enforcement has sufficient evidence to go to a judge and ask for an arrest warrant, and the judge agrees that the evidence is sufficiently compelling to issue that warrant, society must proceed on the assumption that while you are innocent until proven guilty, there may be an unacceptable risk allowing you to continue in certain activities until the proof is established.

Therefore, it's perfectly legitimate to demand that someone arrested for child molestation be suspended from their job at a pre-school until after a trial proves them innocent.

It's perfectly legitimate to demand that an elected official arrested for corruption be suspended from exercising the power delegated to them by their election until a trial proves them innocent.

And it's perfectly legitimate to call for the resignation of an elected official who has, through their actions, public utterances (or lack thereof), and other sins of omission/comission, destroyed public trust in themselves and their office, regardless of whether the commission of an actual crime is at issue.
