The MSM has a lot of nerve bitching about political corruption!

EVERYBODY knows that the only way to get rid of corruption is to have public financing of elections. INCLUDING FREE AIR TIME for candidates. The reason the pols have to raise so much money is because of the high price of running TV commercials. So I think it fair to say that the MSM is the biggest contributor to political corruption in this country.

I'm not defending Blago, he's either really stupid or crazy, he's an exception to the normal problems we have. I just find it hard to stomach whining from the very people who pocket the cash the politicians steal!

If the MSM is so concerned about corruption in America, why don't they stop taking money from the biggest crooks in this country? Stop running those AIG and Citi bank commercials. Don't they know they're CORRUPT too?

From the TV to the newspapers.. ALL the biggest criminals in this country are advertisers. Paying the MSM big bucks why they sit there in their stupid little circles and "tsk tsk" all the bad guys. It's a total joke.

And as far as the Republican base goes. It obvious that they aren't going to give Obama one moment of peace. We need to remind them that they defended Bush and Cheney as they broke every law known to God and man. They STILL have NO credibility. And they never will for the rest of their lives. That won't stop them of course, and that's why they need to be attacked every single day. NO MORE bi-partisanship talk. It's not going to work and it was a STUPID idea!

It is also true that the entire top level of this country is corrupt. This was also the thugs idea. Ronald Reagan GREED IS GOOD! Now we have a corrupt country, where nobody cares about anything but themselves.
THAT is the Republicans fault! It was their idea and they are going to get the blame!

I just want to end with this. The right-wing will not stop spinning Obama as a crook. The MSM will go along because it will boost their ratings and make them look "fair". It's a waste of energy fighting with them on this level.

There is good news on the horizon. Apple is developing a "internet/TV" contraption. We will all be able to use the tee vee's in our comfortable living rooms for internet access. This spells DEATH for the MSM. The only thing keeping them alive is the "comfortable couch" advantage. Apple TV may be out as soon as next year and then we can sit back and watch the bullshit fade away. Politicians will use youtube more and stop paying the MSM extortionists.

As far as Obama goes I think we should close ranks and support him even more. And for God sakes, quit treating the conservatives like human beings. They are in our way all the time. Hammer the conservative base everyday and have no mercy. Things won't get better until they're GONE!

1. removing money and power from politics is the next generation of society
and at this point, it's nothing more than a fabled myth, but I would like to see it become a reality someday.

There should be no glory in politics, nor money, nor power. It should be like jury duty: unprofitable and unpleasant -- a civic duty, as it were.

That would keep the corrupt away from government, because there would be nothing there for them to exploit for their benefit.

2. BIG kick & rec from me..
Media is going to have to take a few good hits. They certainly deserve them. One of the first big things I'D push for is dissolution of the HUGE media monopolies that have grown under a compliant FCC over the course of the last 30 years.

If you own a Network.. NO GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS FOR YOU . .

You must also immediated divest yourselves of all newspapers and radio networks . .

(They have been gorging themselves at our expense for far too long.)

4. Me too. The anti-trust laws haven't been used for two decades.
Is anybody surprised that all these companies are TOO BIG TO FAIL!

20 years ago there were 50 media companies, now there's 6. That's the problem!

3. Corporate Media Glorifies Criminals...
Look at how they enabled this regime for 8 years...knowing it was operating illegally and always found a way to spin or justify the actions...and give little time to a contrary opinion and lable those who did have those opinions as traitors. And now they're trying to "rehabilitate" the worst regime ever as if none of the shit that's happening to us was their fault...ya know, it just sorta kinda happened.

Then there's the coporate media's facination with death...if it bleeds, it leads. Crimes and criminals are glorified...just look at the O.J. frenzy...or turn on a prime time show and the focus is on the murder or murderer not on the victim or the consequences. Bad boys sell...and that's what matters.

Lastly, remember who the corporate media works for. It's surely not us, unless you've got their stock in your portfolio...even then there's no accountability. They cater to "conservatives" cause that's who they represent...brothers in profit and greed. The best one can do it keep them at arms distance, avoid buying from the companies that dump millions on them and avoid their filter...thank goodness for blogs!

5. Criminals are their biggest customers. Look at the commerials.
Sex and violence gets ratings. The media is a curse in a hundred ways.

6. If You Let Them They're A Curse...
I remember when you only had a handful of TV channels and you took what they gave you...Gilligan's Island, Scooby Doo, My Mother The Car...if you were lucky you had 30 or 60 minutes of news a day. Radio wasn't better...you were lucky to get 5 minutes an hour and then the same news would be repeated all day.

Today, there's too much. I have more channels on my teevee than I can count, DVRs now put you in control...not the other way around. I think it boils down to a personal preference...do you control your teevee or visa versa.

Cheers...

9. Thanks. I love it when someone rants for me.
Now I can go cook that new minestrone soup I've been waiting to make.

I just hope for our sakes that we can get to a point in our lives where the level of disgust isn't life crushing. I advise listening to college radio. There's great music out there that most people have never heard. Belle and Sebastian. Of Montreal. Oh crap, what am I blabbing about?
