Obama campaign worker severely beaten for wearing Obama t-shirt.

I received an email today from a woman who was the Obama campaign staff coordinator in Vance County, N.C. Her friend and a fellow Obama campaign volunteer, Kaylon Johnson was allegedly attacked by two white men on December 6 in Shreveport, La. His offense: he was wearing an Obama t-shirt. She asked me to get this information out to as many people as possible, so here's what she sent me.

The assailants yelled racial slurs and savagely beat Kaylon Johsnon before he could react. He was punched in the face and knocked out, suffering serious injuries to his eye socket and a broken nose. Surgery will be required.

The Shreveport Police Department is investigating.

This is a tragedy. Please keep Kaylon Johnson in your thoughts and prayers, if you're the praying kind.

You can't count on the police to do this.

And whatever your opinion of the local media outlets, they WILL be interested, that is if this man filed a police report. as I'm assuming since they are investigating.

Right now is what is known as the "slow season" in the news biz. Every reporter and every editor is hard-pressed to find a good story between Thanksgiving and New Year's....I used to work in the news biz, so that's why I'm passing on this piece of advice.

Please urge your friend and/or this man to pass on this story. It needs to be heard/read.
