dems should take offer to interview rove and miers without oath,,,,
....and then once they have them both behind closed doors they should be waterboarded. repukes say waterboarding is not torture and that it's effective in getting real confessions. so, let's waterboard that little creepy evil pile of dogcrap, rove, and that dimbulbed harriet miers to get the truth.

murtha and kerry get to administer the waterboarding.

1. no
because no matter what info they may have obtained, we would have lost.

And then there is the fact that Bush gets public bragging rights that Congress caved to his demands.

2. I realize that you're trying to make a funny here,
But it really doesn't fly, at least not with me. First, because I don't find torture amusing even in jest. Second, because taking the offer from Bush means that once again Bush gets by with breaking the law.

7. You do know that you're seriously starting to wander into "Visit from the SS" territory now
Just a friendly reminder, this administration takes any sort of threat, even made in jest, quite seriously. You also know that this board is regularly perused by various agents of the FBI, SS, and other such alphabet agencies. We collectively refer to them as Agent Mike.

Just a friendly warning.

9. i mean for all these people to be waterboarded by the appropriate authorities....
....i'm not threatening to do anyone harm. didn't the administration say that waterboarding is not torture anyway?

the ss has bigger fish to fry than me. i'm a law abiding citizen that never has caused any problems and i don't even own a firearm. if the ss is wasting their time on people like me, i'd be worried about their competence.

11. Hey, I don't like it, you don't like it, but the fact of the matter is that it's happening
The SS is going after any sort of percieved threat, even if it's patentedly obvious that it's a joke or a non-threat.

A fourteen year old for her MySpace page<http://digg.com/politics/A_politically_active_14_year_old_gets_a_visit_from_the_Secret_Service>
A LiveJournal blogger<http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=19469>
A student who made a post that some freeper WalMart employee found offensive<http://www.alternet.org/workplace/26503>
For having an anti-Bush poster<http://www.indyweek.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A16759>

Etc. etc. ad nauseum. Even at DU here, we've had a visit by the SS a few weeks back due to what a poster put up.

Just sayin'

12. Question:
Do you have any information on the number of SS "visits" during the Clinton Administration?

It could be an interesting comparison...You know, in case someone was trying to make a case about politically-motivated facism against, say...the Attorney General.

10. But waterboarding is OK
There is not a threat if it's a legimate method for obtaining information and according to Mr. Gonzalez it's all A-OK isn't it?

I realize it's just a joke but what the hell, if the AG says it's an approved method why not use it on non-cooperative witnesses?

Of course I'm not seriously condoning the action of what any reasonable person would consider torture but where is the line drawn? This administration has moved our country into the pits of world governments with our treatment of detainees, we can now claim allegiance with some of the best of them. China, Egypt, Pakistan... wow I am so proud.

'record.' OR, the Dems could WIRETAP the room! Beat 'em at their own game. Fight fire with fire.
