Did Bush really say that?

"My instruction to him was `Get over to the zone as quickly as possible, and implement a plan that will achieve our goals,"' Bush said."

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/26/bush.ap/index.html

I thought he had a plan but he is telling his Army Lt. Gen. David Petraeus to implement a plan?!?!
and he is asking his detractors to come up with a plan? Bush has no plan except for being out of office before we get out of Iraq. He doesn't want the legacy of pulling troops and being looked at as "weak"

Can I say Numb Nuts? The plan is to get out of Iraq.

1. Patraeus has been picked as the cheerleader for Iraq.
He will be in charge of speaking in very positive terms about "the surge" and make it seem as if we are making progress. It's all smoke and mirrors and it's all political.

Patraeus has traded any integrity he had for full General.

4. I'm noticing some parallels to VietNam here
General Westmorland was the rah rah boy in RVN, exaggerating the body counts, pumping sunshine up the Administrations ass, claiming that we could see"the light at the end of the tunnel", not bothering to amplify that statement that the light was an oncoming train.

Sounds like we got our Iraqi Westy right here and now.

As Gen Curtis Le May was purported to have said; "We oughta be thankful for the Viet Nam war. It's the only one we got"!

:freak: :sarcasm:
