Defense contractors (War Profiteers) report strong quarter
http://www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/business/16546087.htm

Defense contractors Lockheed Martin Corp. and Northrop Grumman Co. posted higher fourth-quarter earnings Thursday as government spending in areas like military hardware and information and technology remained strong. For the fourth quarter of 2006, Lockheed’s net earnings rose 28 percent to $729 million, or $1.68 per share, compared with $568 million, or $1.29 per share in the year-ago period. Northrop earned $453 million, or $1.28 per share, compared with $331 million, or 92 cents per share, during the same period a year ago. Earnings for defense firms have risen steadily in recent years behind big spending increases on defense programs and equipment as the Pentagon fights wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

1. These defense contractors are very bi-partisan too

The democrats nor the republicans will decide when the troops come home, the defense contractors themselves will.
They're already spending big bucks lobbying and will be donating heavily to both sides in 2008.
