Do You Want To Know Why The Massive Bailouts Will Not Cause Inflation?
Edited on Mon Dec-08-08 05:45 PM by ThomWV
Here is why the massive bailouts will not cause inflation; its because what we will actually be doing is replacing money that was never really there with money that is really not there. Net change zero; ABC=CBA

2. It won't cause inflation because the bottom has
fallen out of the consumer market. There are now too few dollars chasing too many goods. The supply side is going to be unloading inventory for whatever it can get in the short term.

5. I was hoping I'd kick off before I saw deflation
Inflation hurts retired people on a fixed income with limited savings. Deflation throws working people out of work.

Harm from inflation has been softened by COLAs with Social Security. I'm afraid only massive government intervention in the economy has ever managed to overcome the misery caused by a deflationary cycle.
