Chris Matthews & george bush sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
in from a day of driving all over the landscape trying to make a buck, and watching now Matthews absolutely fawning over his pugnacious little fighter of a pre-tend-di-dent is a disgusting display of wanton fight-club politics...

what the hell is wrong with Matthews?

far too many are supporting bush and his 'fuck you' antics

i only hope that dem leadership seen this coming and has a rapid response cause the time is now

why do republicans feel as though the laws of this land are only here to protect them, their cronies & their enablers, and fellow usurpers

2. Matthews' reaction to Bush's little tantrum was
a truly disgusting display, wasn't it? Must really have given Tweety a hard-on. His drooling reminded me of the show after Bush landed on the aircraft carrier and gave the "Mission Accomplished" speech. Chris REALLLEEEEE loved W in that flight suit. Ugh.

23. If any Democrat shows ferocity, they're accused of being out of control
and of bad temperament.

11. Could it be that Chris Matthews loves
any politician who will stand up and fight.
I have seen him get those excited looks when
he thought the Dems would stand up and fight.

I think Chris simply admires people who atand
up and appear not easily pushed around, or
will do not appear to be afraid of confrontation.

12. Actually I think it is something deeper
Tweety loves the appearance of power.
He hasn't quite figured that force isn't power...nonetheless, he was in absolute ga-ga awe of Bush today.

he should've loved Saddam. Whatever else you can say about him, bastard fought till the end. Sometimes, it's about what they're fighting for.

20. Could be he loves brawlers--he gets all giggly around Howard Dean too.
I caught that interview with Dean a few days ago and once they got over the stuff where Dean had to step carefully (presidential candidates and congressional leaders) he and the DNC chairman were like a couple of schoolgirls.

15. Asked whether Gonzo should resign, Leahy said "it is up to the President" -- Why? why? why? why? why
can't he say a simple "yes." God damn the spinelessness. Just say yes. Just do it. It isn't that hard. Every time the corporate media whores push the Democrats, they whimper and retreat.

Let's practice it now:

"Should Gonzo resign?"

"Yes."

That wasn't so hard, now was it? Why why why why why why why can't the Democrats do this?

No wonder we are still so fucked.

24. What bothered me the most, aside from the suck-uppery, was the fact that
the whole conflict and reason for the crisis (Bush firing the atty's to prevent further investigation into Mitch Wade/MZM, Jerry Lewis, Marianas etc.) was not even mentioned.

And rather than even hold up a fig leaf of objectivity, Matthews took Bush's side ("it IS a fishing expedition/if I were him I wouldn't let Rove testify etc.").

I mean, shit, one of the reporters at the press conference even led the way and asked the question about Lam's investigation, and Matthews and Gregory completely dropped that ball in their coverage, it was all Bush's "fighting spirit" and standing up to "fishing expeditions". The only meaningful, relevant or truthful thing to come out of Matthews' mouth was the idea that the "no transcript/oath" was to protect Rove from being prosecuted for perjuring himself. It wasn't until Olberman's show later that the relevant issue of obstruction of justice came up.

I only happened to catch the MSNBC coverage because I just happened to turn my (vacation) hotel TV on to that channel the moment I was channel surfing. I was disgusted.

I don't really know why people ever expect anything good from Matthews. In my view (for a while now) he's a complete Bushwhore who occasionally tosses in an anti-shrubco statement to try and maintain a not very credible semblance of fairness.
