They must make themselves viable....but the slime level is such its almost impossible....the GOP has too much baggage.

2. There is a chance we could score an effective kill
As long as one delusional member of the idle rich believe there is a republican party it will exist.
But the incredible performance we've seen out of them these past years should permanently remove them as a viable political party.

8. you might like to think so, but they mostly preach to the choir...
fully 1/3 of the country still supports the weasel, and many more just don't pay all that much attention.

13. again...not as grim as you might like to think.
most polls are showing the 2008 presidential race pretty much a toss-up at this point, depending on which possible/probable nominees are inserted. and that newly elected democratic congress isn't impressing the populace all that much, based on their 28% approval rating- even lower than *'s.

7. People Are Angry At The People - Not The Ideas
As soon as we get a new batch of fresh-faced Hitler Youth, the people will be voting for the GOP again. The Democrats have, again as in the early 1990s, embraced a "we suck less" strategy - which *never* works for anyone not named Clinton.

We need a Democratic Party with an actual pro-average-Joe agenda - without it, the Rethugs will soon be ascendant again.
