Delay calls Clinton Slimy
http://us.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/20/delay.memoirs.ap/index.html

HOUSTON, Texas (AP) -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's just-published memoirs skewer his former comrades in the historic 1994 Republican revolution for squandering the victory through useless and ineffective leadership.

DeLay's book, "No Retreat, No Surrender," which hit bookstores this weekend, singles out former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, DeLay's predecessor as House majority leader. Former President Clinton is described as "slimy," and President Bush is dismissed as "compassionate, but ... certainly no conservative."

Only DeLay's wife and daughter escape unscathed.

DeLay, dogged by charges of money laundering in Texas, resigned from Congress last June and is awaiting trial.

6. hey Delay, tell the 100,000 dead Iraqis that Bush is "compassionate"...
and tell the people of New Orleans, who have been handed a privatized (non)recovery rather than help from the federal government, that he's not "conservative"!

10. Well he's the King Of Slime
Ain't it funny that it took Delay, Starr and their inquisition hundreds of millions of dollars or OUR money to investigate the Big Dog and they couldn't even get a conviction yet one little prosecutor in Texas nailed his SLIMY butt with just the rule of law?

BTW I think that Meredith Viera took him to school on the Today show this morning. Had him sputtering like a motorboat.

14. This book should be considered a joke book,
if it weren't for the fact that Delay is not behind bars where he should be. OJ's "How I would have done it" is more factual.

15. I don't think BugMan is bright enough to author a book.

In fact he has probably never read an entire book any longer than My Pet Goat in his lifetime.

I tend to think someone made him a deal. One in which DeLay would get a small portion of the royalties of a body of work written by a ghost writer.

23. Houston Chronicle Front Page Headline: "His New Bully Pulpits"
Above a huge picture of DeLay's slimy mug. What a way to start the day--all over the Greater Houston area! (Online, the wording is a bit different.)

DeLay blares revamped message with new bully pulpits

By MICHELLE MITTELSTADT
Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON — Largely quiet since resigning from Congress last summer under indictment, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is back with a vengeance.

The Republican from Sugar Land is popping up in bookstores, on the Internet and the airwaves with a conservative call to arms: Democrats are hurtling America down the wrong track, but Republicans won't defeat them until they learn to better articulate their message.

"Fight. Fight," DeLay advised embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales during an appearance Tuesday on NBC's Today show.

Asked by the interviewer if he himself hadn't given up the fight when he quit Congress, DeLay replied: "No. I just changed arenas."
