Rove's Enemies List: "There were people who never accepted the legitimacy of George W. Bush"

Bush insiders reflect on president's legacy

By Ken Herman
WASHINGTON BUREAU
Sunday, December 07, 2008

WASHINGTON — On a sofa on the second floor of the comfortable Washington home that George W. Bush's career helped put him in, Karl Rove reflects on an administration that didn't turn out as anticipated.

......................

Much of Washington, Rove said, never accepted Bush as a legitimate president and "acted accordingly." ... "There were people who never accepted the legitimacy of George W. Bush and acted accordingly," he said.

.............

Also reserved for between the covers of Rove's book is his checklist of the "great many of the political actors in this town (who) never accepted him as a legitimate president."

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove said, adding: "I'm going to name names and show examples."

I was also thinking some will probably be quite disappointed if they don't make his little list and may seek an injunction to have their names added.

52. did that blow you away, mediaman?
it absolutely disgusted me - the guy ignored warnings, sat in a classroom reading a kiddie book as people leaped out of the burning towers, then flew around the country apparently waiting for his pants to dry before finally showing up in NYC with a freaking blowhorn to use NYC firemen as a photo op - sickening beyond BELIEF - I was absolutely APPALLED. :puke:

If this so-called "genius" is suggesting that Bush failed because everyone wasn't behind him, then he's going to look very ridiculous.

He didn't win in 2000 and there's damned good reason to think he did not win in 2004.

Since he didn't win in 2000 he should not have even been running in 2004.

We all know that Cheney was running things.

If that makes me an enemy of Rove, along with a good number of very intelligent, ethical human beings, I'm in damn good company. Rove is an enemy of The Constitution, and should be imprisoned for the rest of his life.

I hope he's hauled before Congress in chains come January.

Not that I intend to give you one red cent of the last of my so-called retirement fund. I'll just skim your book standing in the aisle, make note of who the good'uns are, and move right along.

Do look forward to seeing you again on the tube someday. Dressed in orange pajamas. Very becoming on you, Rove. Suit you to a t.

30. My guess is that in every government agency there are old timers
- people who have been working there for years - that have just been praying for someone to oust these bastards. That is why I have always believed that the CIA, FBI and even the military would not totally betray us. Down in the ranks there are good people working to keep the show going. On January 20th they will be free to surface once again.

I have never accepted him as my president, and I never accepted him as governor of Texas. I did, however, accept him as the coward and worthless piece of shit he is. he will never change. The Bushes are die-hard narcissists, thinking somehow they were sanctioned by God to be leaders. Musta been the drugs and alcohol!

I am usually ready to give props to all those who serve their country. Not george Bush. I hope he rots in hell for eternity, along with Karl "The Cowardly Traitor" Rove, and Dick "Shoot em in the face" Cheney. They have proved they deserve nothing better.

Edited on Sun Dec-07-08 12:07 PM by w4rma

"You'll notice there was outrage when it was thought that I was the person behind outing Valerie Plame. And then when it came out that it was the sainted (Deputy Secretary of State) Richard Armitage, there was no interest. I don't remember seeing anybody camped out on his doorstep like they were camped out on mine. (It's) because he was part of the acceptable culture of Washington, and I was not. I was one of those Texans who came up. He was one of those perpetual I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you'll-scratch-mine Washington leakers," Rove vented.

They absolutely were in sloppy love with W from the first. From the compliant press to the Republicans to the DINOs, they just loved them some W.

Maybe he's talking about all the hoi polloi that they won't get to put in reeducation camps now.

When they're winning, they're geniuses.

When they're losing, it's like Captain Queeg ... everyone's out to get them.

But they don't understand. We don't want them to go away mad. We just want them to go away.

Fortunately, the Bush Junta never solidified hold on power once it was seized. The junta falls and the dictator with it.

27. You know what might have enhanced his legitimacy?
Bush could have gained a scintilla of legitimacy if he had governed as if he didn't win a majority of the votes cast in 2000. Because, you see, Mr. Rove, he didn't. Instead he governed as if he was George the Invincible.

For someone who's supposed to be a political genius, Rove sure seems stupid. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that he was in reality just a dirty-trick hatchetman. I look forward to picking up his book for a buck. Should be about mid-July next year.

33. And I have special contempt for those people because they
kept their mouths shut and gave their tacit approval to every criminal act * initiated to the point of looking away as he gutted our Constitution and turned our Bill of Rights into a joke. Rove & * and the DC establishment want us to pat them on the head now that he's on his way out the door with his criminal cohort? I see this in the rewrite of history they are attempting and the blatant grovelling of some of the press and punditry as they try to figure out how to toady up to Obama. It won't freaking work this time. I hope Obama and his crew continue to school them in how democracy is intended to work and the fact that this is is the goverment of, by, and for the people AND the WH is the People's House.
