Why is LIHOP considered crazy talk here?
Don't get me wrong - there's no more evidence for this than there is that Bin Laden did it. But you'd think those who believe in LIHOP would not get treated as crazies here.

Just wondering

2. probably marketing, more than anything
They probably don't want DU to become known as a "conspiracy" site.

Therefore, let me quickly opine: LIHOP OR MIHOP for sure.

5. Too close to MIHOP. It always goes there in discussion.
It's like discussing bagels without the conversation moving onto the state of Israel.

It's impossible!

Kidding, but when it comes to 9/11, "crazy" comes up fast.

People who oppose every position of the Bush Regime & neocons in general accept the official conspiracy theory about 9/11 as gospel truth which cannot be questioned.

I view it as our own Reichstag fire.

10. A quick search of the google
showed LIHOP means Let IT Happen On Purpose. MIHOP apparently means Making It Happen On Purpose or perhaps Maryland International House of Prayer.

14. Ah
I always had a feeling about LIHOP, but then it would have made more sense for him to have acted heroic instead of sitting still for seven and a half minutes.

But that's just me.

after having been told TWICE that America was under attack on 9/11.

The truth has been, shall we say, massively fudged by the homelander borg.

13. The Bush Crime Family stole the 2000 election through massive fraud and finally court manipulation.
They later lied about 100% of their justifications for the invasion of Iraq.

So we KNOW they were vile lying shitbags before 9-11-01, and we KNOW they were vile lying shitbags after.

Nobody with a functioning brain can dispute these things.

Yet for that one day, with a complete lack of any real evidence to document their "official story", we're supposed to take their word for it.

Why does that not make one fucking ounce of sense?

15. Unless George pulls a fast one in the next 8 weeks, he's not going to have the power
to cover up the conspiracy. He has never been the brightest bulb in the pack, but there was a conspiracy, he had better hope that all the people involved in it stay quiet. Conspiring to kill 3,000 Americans or to let someone else do the killing, might get him in a bit more trouble than starting a war bogus reasons.

Wars are almost always controversial with disagreements of what did happen, how it could have or should have happened, how they should be fought and ended. People seem to believe that wars are messy, confusing affairs, so they give a lot of leeway to presidents, senators, generals, etc.

Mass killing of fellow Americans might be something that George should worry about.

Then at Tora Bora, Bush pulled a LBLGAOP (Let Bin Laden Get Away On Purpose.)

19. There's no way that the Bush Crime Family avoids responsibility for this
At the very least, Al Qaeda itself was a creation of Poppy Bush's CIA. It's only a matter of determining whether they're still on the payroll, or whether they were "free lancing"

And the problem with the "free lance" theory is that all the "drills" scheduled for that very morning that Cheney was personally in charge of. Which led to the confusion which caused air defenses to stand down pretty much until the Pentagon itself was "hit".

Edited on Fri Dec-05-08 01:32 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
Anyone who has looked into PNAC, the people involved with PNAC, and their goals has got to wonder about LIHOP.

Now, I do think that things go off the rails when people talk about a plane not hitting the Pentagon/the Towers being taking down by bombs.

And I think it is done to purposefully delegitimize the real possibility of our own involvement in 9/11.

21. Because there are a lot of authoritarians around here
And authoritarians feel a big spike of threat and anxiety whenever the motives or behavior of Authority is questioned. They're like little kids who get threatened with parental abandonment. Mommy and Daddy must be -and therefore are- perfect. All-knowing, all-loving. Godlike, in fact. Anything else is too hard to take.
