Baby photo rejected for passport - hair too spiky.

Kate Lurie thought the photographic assistant was joking when he pointed to her daughter Eden's three-inch hair in the portrait and said: "It's too spiky."

She was even more amazed when the child was given a 'virtual haircut' on a computer to trim her flyaway hair.

***

Eden had fallen foul of the strict regulations brought in by the Identity and Passport Service for the new biometric passports.

Thousands of pictures have been rejected by the service because they do not meet the guidelines.

Just sayin'.

5. More from the story: they say they do not alter the face in any way. (Altered image here.)
"We do not alter the face in any way, but the rules say the whole head has to be in the photo and 65 to 75 per cent of the photo has to be the face."

9. That's b.s. You can see as much of her face in the first shot; this looks
like a mug shot. x(

18. The first shot is one taken by a newspaper
the Copyright MEN in the lower right corner refers to the "Manchester Evening News".

10. That isn't the same picture. The baby is wearing something different...
unless this has been significantly altered.

12. My oldest son had hair like that, too. It didn't matter what you
did to it or how much you wet and combed it, within a few minutes the hair on top of his head was standing straight up and waving at you.

14. Geez, if this is being rejected due to matters of biometrics,
It just goes to show you how reliable that "all Powerful, all Seeing" biometrics techonolgy really is. If it can be fooled by an adorable kid's spiked hair, gee, just think of how it could be fooled if somebody really put their mind to it:eyes:
