Honestly--I don't get the Franken/Coleman recount numbers...
Three different numbers for one recount... The Star-Tribune, The State, and Franken's camp.

Who the hell is right?

3. Figures don't lie but counters figure.
It's pretty obvious that they are reporting on different counts of the count.

The State is the final arbitar. I'm not going to get in any deeper until the State says it is done recounting and hearing challenges.

4. All of them.
The SOS is releasing the tally as they are counted as if this was election day. Like election day, one candidate will be ahead based on what counties are reporting. The problem is that it isn't a re-vote so the numbers will be almost identical with the exception of a few new/lost/found/rejected/accepted votes.

The Star-Trib is more accurate as it is tallying the new/lost/found/rejected/accepted votes and applying it to the notion that all other things will remain eqaul......except for "challenged" ballots which they are taking out of the mix thereby reducing the vote totals for both candidates by the challenged amount. The "x" factor here is who is challenging more ballots or using challenged ballots as a public relations strategy to keep the opponent's vote total down.

Hopefully, the Franken campaign is closest as they are supposedly using the Star-Trips methodology PLUS calculating the anticipated canvasing boards ruling based on the election judges' initial ruling which is VERY unlikely to get overturned.

I'm banking on the fact that Franken's initial challenges were legitimate when it came to obvious Coleman votes whereas Coleman's challenges started out as a strategy to keep Franken's totals artificially low. Now they are both engaged in a war of artificial challenges.

If any of Franken's initial challenges were frivolous, they leaned more toward challenging "under-votes" which wouldn't have decrease Coleman's total.
