Mumbai attacks: Terrorists took cocaine, LSD to stay awake during assault

Terrorists who battled Indian commandos for 60-hours last week relied on cocaine and other stimulants to stay awake for the duration of the fight.

Officials said drug paraphernalia, including syringes, was recovered from the scene of the attacks, which killed almost 200 people.

The heavily built men, who had undergone training at a special marine camp established by the Lashkar-e-Taibat (LeT) terrorist group in Pakistan, had also used steroids to build a tougher physique.

"We found injections containing traces of cocaine and LSD left behind by the terrorists and later found drugs in their blood," said one official.

"There was also evidence of steroids, which isn't uncommon in terrorists.

Most first person shooters feature some sort of stim pack, which is a health booster that you can inject into your body to increase hit points. This is obviously where they got the idea, and video games need to be banned!

That said, I sure as hell wouldn't want to take LSD before doing something as completely fucked up as going on a shooting spree.

And the experiments were intended to learn about how to manipulate the human mind for many purposes, including disorienting the enemy and "improving" the performance of humans as killing machines.

One of my relatives took part in the experiments, and to his death, he regretted having participated. Never shared the details, but we all knew he had been part of something that went very much awry.

I don't know about Cocaine, it gets you up but the high itself is relatively short. They must've had large amounts. LSD though? I never done LSD before but from what I've told I heard you hallucinate, are in a positive lovey mood(unless a bad trip), and all sorts of patterns and shapes. I smell BS but I don't completely rule it out because I don't know for a fact whether they did or not. But LSD? I never done it so someone please tell me how LSD helps? I've done cocaine before and as far as keeping you awake it isn't that much stronger then coffee imo. Meth would've been the better choice and I'm sure they could've got it if they wanted it. Asia is pseoudephedrine land.

Methamphetamine sulfate, in foil wrapped packets. They were designed for E&E but GIs got them and used them for entertainment..We also had "Obesitol" which we could buy from any local drug store..
