I have achieved Worldly Wisdom...
...And was informed by my family that I should expect to be contacted by mail Monday regarding my participation in an important national lobbying group. I came to this site four years ago as a callow youth of just 51, barely older than our president when he ceased "youthful hijinks", full of juvenile misinformation, like "the Supreme Court" was a respected institution and Ohio was "the will of the people"...It All seems so long ago.

It took the work of hundreds of posters to knock away my rough edges and to hone and instill in me the highest ideals of a democratic party I was born to but little knew. Yes, I did the reading and thinking, but it was you and your fellow posters that provided the framework and synopsis of my political education.

So today on the verge of my matriculation and in recognition of my newly recognized status let me say my thanks to you and for the honor being extended by this august lobbying group. Thank you DU and Thank you AARP...

And Happy 55th birthday to me....
Cat

PS: I can't wait for Monday's mail!

8. Ca Peg, I love you!
Have I met you in my previous, late lamented, life in SD? Wish I could afford to move back, although, Armageddon speaking, I'm 50M higher here.... :hi:

3. I vaguely remember sending some snark your way
a time or two.

However, all I'm sending you today are best wishes for a happy birthday, and may they become more so as we get rid of this administration.

5. Oh, I've swallowed some snark and eaten some crow....
...and little of it undeserved. I cherish my board time and my board mates. If it costs me a bit of humbling from time to time the price is little enough. Thanks for the kindness.

10. Happy Birthday. It seems we grow too soon old and too late smart.
That was on a hot plate my mother had when I was a little girl. Did not understand it at the time.

13. They got a late start on you...
...I'm twenty-three years younger than you are, and the AARP has been sending me offers to join for a year and a half! I've told them about twelve times that I'm only twenty-two, but so far it has not sunk in...

Regardless, the best of birthdays to you!
