NPR pissed me off this morning
On the plus side, they referenced tomorrow's march in Washington, but they said the organizers hoped that "tens of thousands" of people would brave the cold to march and mentioned that it "could possibly" be the biggest march since the one in 2003. I was at the one in 2005 and there were about 60 "tens of thousands" (600,000) so this was just fucking spin on their part. Downplay, downplay, fucking downplay. I don't notice the bias at NPR as much as some here but today I heard it loud and clear.

the media can go to hell, remember when the illegals were out there marching, that's what we need. This media of ours just sucks.

and the weather is going to be great, 50 degrees they are predicting.

2. One More Reason To Be Angry
Thanks for posting this.

I gives me one more reason to be angry.

Stolen Elections.

Lying President.

Senseless and Illegal War.

"Non-Binding Resolutions" instead of ACTION to end the war.

I'll be in DC tomorrow -- ANGRY and LOUD.

They will have to listen.

4. Before you jump to that conclusion
perhaps it's a reference to the quote of an organizer. Would have been more responsible for NPR to identify the source -- "organizers hoped" is not a big leap from FOX's "sources say"....

6. NPR (Neocon Public Relations) is the next Faux News Radio,
supporting the criminal junta with a bizarre mix of pedanticism and denial.

8. That Was A Quote From The Organizers. What In The World Are You Pissed About?
Are you pissed at the organizers for downplaying their own event? Are you putting forth a theory that the organizers of the event themselves are spinning their own cause? Does this make sense somehow?

I dunno. Pretty confused about why someone would be angry at such a statement from the organizers themselves, but what can ya do.

9. It wasn't a quote
I'm sorry if I made it look like that. NPR seemed to just be spinning it. I wondered why they even mentioned it. That would have been the best spin - just ignoring it.

13. OPERATIONMINDCRIME is right

There are plenty of reasons to feel contempt for National rePublican Radio, but this isn't one of them.
As others have pointed out, this was a quote from the organizers. Also, I heard the same figure mentioned on Pacifica Radio, which, believe me, is the last network that would intentionally underestimate potential crowd size.

My guess (hope) is that UFPJ is just managing expectations and that as others have suggested, we have to be wary of a far more insidious NPR tendency, that is to lowball the crowd count after the march has taken place.

11. Don't be pissed at the messenger.....as other have correctly pointed
out, NPR was sourcing organizers, right?

Save your anger for if the actual size of the crowd is underestimated.

12. National Propaganda Radio
When they have a top to bottom house cleaning I'll turn them back on, but, to tell you the truth I've found so many more sources that i don't miss them at all and really wouldn't if they went belly up in the sun.
