There’s only a week to go before the Dec. 2 runoff election in Georgia that could send Jim Martin, a champion of workers, to the U.S. Senate and send incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss packing. You can still take part by helping Martin raise the funds he needs to get out the message and get out every vote in this critical election.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H--hTlcZLNY&eurl=http://labor2008.typepad.com/ga/&feature=player_embeddedThis election will absolutely make a difference in the ability of Congress to enact a real pro-worker agenda. We can help Martin get to the Senate and cast votes in favor of creating new jobs, expanding affordable, high-quality health care coverage and ensuring the freedom to form unions—or we can watch Chambliss go back to Washington and continue his efforts to block the change working families desperately need.
AFL-CIO President John Sweeney met with Martin earlier this month and came away impressed with his commitment to policies that help working families. Says Sweeney:
Over the years, I’ve gotten to meet a lot of politicians, and I’m pretty good at figuring out who is truly passionate about helping America’s workers and rebuilding our middle class and who is just paying lip service to those ideals.
Let me tell you, Jim Martin is committed to helping America’s workers.
I couldn’t have been more impressed with Jim, and to help elect him to the U.S. Senate, we’ve moved massive resources into Georgia for this election sprint that ends Dec. 2. Jim could use your financial support as well.
With only a week to go and union volunteers working tirelessly to mobilize active and retired union members and their families around the state, we have a chance to make a real difference by sending Martin to the Senate. You can help here
