"Thanksgiving" e-mail from our company president
Edited on Thu Nov-27-08 11:12 PM by MrMonk
Sent about noon today, so most employees won't see it until they come in on Monday.

I paraphrase ...

toughest times I've ever seen ...
our business model is to be well-prepared ...
unfortunately, we are not unaffected ...
must make difficult decisions for the good of the many counting on us ...
(glurge, glurge, glurge)
character is shown by how one handles adversity ...
happy thanksgiving.

I'm so excited about Monday. :sarcasm:

5. I'm pissed off that he snuck it in by e-mail on a holiday weekend.
and had the nerve to disguise it as a "holiday wish".

9. I hear you, and I would be, too.
Very cowardly imo. When did honesty become a commodity?

15. So, the saved expenses go into the parachute
Wheeeee! One guy takes more money than he'll ever need from the backs of people who worked to earn it. As Yusef Smirnoff would say, "Amerika! What a country!"

8. It wasn't a personal e-mail. It was a mass mailing to the entire company.

It still means somebody's getting the axe, and the rest of us are expected to get the message.

20. That is still s*itty handling.
I realize it's a mass mailing, but even some expression of thoughtfulness or appreciation might have softened the blow.

I bet he won't be feeling any pain over this, right?

14. Sounds like typical assholio speak.
One of the main reasons I don't work anymore. Eff' em where they breath! Once they don't have anymore wage-slaves to profit from they might get the message that you have to share the wealth.

19. It's their way of saying "For many of you, this will be your last holiday season with us,
so we want to wish you a good one. Enjoy the good times while you can, for next year..."

Try to take comfort from the fact that you're not the only one. Then again, maybe it's not a comfort.
