"intentional" aspect of the gas passing. I have always wondered how people do that.

There use to be a punishment called "suspension" or "detention" for obnoxious behavior. When did being a jerky kid turn into a criminal offense?

5. Sounds like Florida is a little too keen on turning kids into criminals..
but I have to admit that I clicked because it looked as though he was turning off people's computers BY passing gas! Behold the power of the fart!

7. What kind of gas was
he passing? Nerve gas?

This seems more of an issue that should be dealt with by the teacher, student and parent.

12. I actually had a student years ago who did this
Not the turning off computers, but passing gas deliberately in class. His were the SBD type (silent but deadly!). It truly was very disruptive, especially for 7th graders (who are very much into - and generally repulsed by - bodily noises, smells, functions, and fluids).

Finally, after a week of this occurring - and by that time obviously deliberate - I called him out into the hallway. I told him that if he had a medical concern that warranted him using the bathroom every day at that time, his parents needed to send me a note. Otherwise I expected the behavior to stop. I never got a note and my classroom never smelled bad again. :)

13. I once read an article that Bush liked to fart in front of new, young WH employees
I wish to hell I could remember where I read this. It didn't surprise me at all, that man has absolutely no class whatsoever. Now he can go back to Crawford, sit in front of the TV, drink and fart into the sofa.
