I say Citigroup got part of $700 billion, and I say to hell with them!!!!!!!
Love letter from Citi: Cash advance will equal the U.S. Prime Rate plus 16.99%, with a minimum APR of 21.99%. The Default APR will equal the greater of (1) the Prime Rate plus up to 23.99% or (2) up to 29.99%.
What do they mean OR? What's good for GM,is good for Citigroup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. I got the same notice, except my APR moved from around 10 to about 16%.
It sucks, but I'm what they call a freeloader. I pay off the balance at the end of the month, so they have difficulty squeezing a lot of money out of me.
They can raise the interest rate to 9000% for all I care. I'm a freeloader too and love every minute of using their money (or perhaps now it's our tax money).
3. I got a 1.99% transfer for life a few years ago from Citi
I transfered around $20000 onto the card. I'm now below $6,000 on it. I figured I would be better off investing in stocks than paying off the balance because of the low interest rate. Turns out the stock investing was not just a great idea. But at 1.99% interest on my balance, I'm not sweating the payments and finance charge.
