Henry Waxman's selection as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and decided the House was going to be considerably farther to the left than anticipated, which of course drew a "Quelle horreur!" response from the CNBC cave people.

1. Elections have consequences.
Or at least they should.

2. For Pete's sake. They just don't get that "their way" HAS FAILED.
What's it going to take for them to get that with the housing and stock market crashing, that all of their "free market" theories, principles and assumptions have been PROVEN WRONG?

When I learned economics, things like the Great Depression, child labor, etc. were considered economic failures - and the thing that got us out of those things was government intervention. I always like (sarcasm) how conservatives say that it wasn't the New Deal, but WWII that ended the Great Depression, and leave it at that as if war is NOT the government and somehow the "market" would have done it. In fact, Jon Stosell has pretty much said just so much.

3. Oh, the bimbo who replaces Lou Dobbs was talking about ...
... how the "Librul Media" influenced the election FOR Obama, last night.

Already. He's not even in office yet and the hyenas are already baying at the moon.

Jebus. :eyes:

4. They still think they're the ones who tell people what to think
It hasn't occurred to them yet that most people actually ignored them and went ahead and voted for the man they didn't back. The media has lived in its own bubble too. They've made themselves irrelevant but they just don't know it yet. They're 100years behind the times. Theirs is the last horse drawn buggy in a world taken over with cars.

5. It's Obama's Fault Already...
No sooner is the election over than the revision and blame shifting begins. I'm hearing "conservatives" and media bobble heads who seem to feel all this financial mess is Obama's responsibility...as though they and the GOOP are now completely detached from any control or responsibility. This enables them to play the "dread the liberal...see how the economy is dying, when they take over we're all doomed" bullshit.

I'm happy to see a more Progressive lean to the upcoming House session...this is where our hard work is starting to pay off and those who have long stood for the "little guy" like Waxman is getting his due. Damn right the right wing is shivering, they're starting to realize they're on the outside looking in and grasping at any way to stay relevant.
