Isn't there a more humane and quick way to end the poor birds' lives? Grinding their heads seems so brutal. But maybe they do something with turkey heads. Anyway, my appetite's ruined fer sure. Oy. I just realized I'm spending Thanksgiving with a bunch of Republicans. There go my Palin jokes.

I think what they were doing was sticking the turkey into the cone of death, so the head stuck out the bottom, which kept them restrained, then the worker slit the turkey's throat and held him down while he bled out. Not an especially nice way to go, but there are worse ways to go.

9. This Will Make Our Thanksgiving More Fun...

I suspect this year's gathering will be a post-mortem on the election and especially Sarah Barracuda. Face it, this lady has provided a lot of entertainment for us in the past couple months. She's the gift that keeps giving every time she attempts to "set the record straight" or impose herself in the national limelight. It's been years since we've had such a fun and convenient punching bag...a new face to direct our ridicule at. This is just, pardon the pun, another feather in that cap.

The video reminded me of my grandfather...a century ago, he "officiated" over the proper killing of poultry at the Chicago stock yards, but he sure never had a TV crew and political candidate running around the place. They didn't call it "The Jungle" for nothing.
