Alison Stewart guest hosting Maddow...
-- Just a little FYI;

"MSNBC alum, and all-around TV sweetheart Alison Stewart (so says Chris, who worked with her too) will be guest hosting The Rachel Maddow Show tonight and tomorrow night. This comes after some not-so-great reviews for Arianna Huffington's guest hosting last night."

1. Arianna was good when she was talking off the cuff. Not so good with the script.
Which is most of the show. Oh, well...

2. Arianna was like watching a movie train wreck. Lotsa fun but no real damage.

3. I couldn't watch it last night. I just have a hard time listening to Arianna for
any extended period of time.

10. That's exactly how I felt. As a panelist, she's enjoyable to listen to. Clever, charming, insightful
But as a host? God, no. There's no resonance in her voice, and it's almost a monotone.

I did love that blouse she had on though :)

11. I ended up turning the sound down and the captions on
I tried sticking it out for the whole show. I really did. After about ten minutes or so my husband asked if we could turn the channel. We compromised. I could watch it but the sound was muted and the closed captioning turned on.

I'm looking forward to seeing Allison again. And I would bet a handsome sum that because she'll be doing the show tonight that my husband will want to watch it downstairs on the big TV. He has a bit of a crush on her.

Obama will spring him next year.

9. KO deserves some time off
Even though we're excited and there's still a lot of news after the election, still a bit of down time for news and the front line hosts.

16. I am so happy to see Alison back on MSNBC.
She used to be my favorite sub for Keith when she was "regularly" on MSNBC. She looks darn good for 42 years old.

I hope they give her a regular slot.

17. She's very good
but I don't know her politics so I don't know if I want her to have her own show. She's a great sub for both KO and Rachel.

19. She used to have her own show on MSNBC a couple of years
or so ago, but it got canceled.

She's definitely got credentials, IMO. From Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alison_Stewart

In 1991, Stewart arrived at MTV News as a segment producer when she was hired by MTV News Director Linda Corradina. She began on-air reporting during MTV's first "Choose or Lose" segments, which covered the 1992 presidential race. Her coverage earned her a Peabody Award.

Stewart remained at MTV for much of the 1990s, contributing segments to other MTV News shows including Megadose and MTV News: Unfiltered. She also hosted specials such as the Real World Reunion in 1995.

She's also worked for ABC and CBS, and NPR but I think she really belongs on MSNBC. She's no slouch. At least, MSNBC is where I'd like her to be. I've really missed Alison. It's great to see her again.

23. Yes, she does look somewhat different. Her hair is straight now,
instead of curly, and she's not wearing her glasses.

I prefer the "old" look, but still think she's incredibly gorgeous, witty, talented, sexy and snarky.

PS. I still love Rachel, though!
