Marriage Protests Caused God to Send CA Wildfires sez RWing preacher James Hartline

Yet again I wonder why any person would worship a being they believe to be this cruel - and with such bad aim. It also brings to mind a quote from a Terry Pratchett book where a character notes the difference between mad and insane. Mad is when you froth at the mouth. Insane is when you froth at the brain.

2. Duh! Exactly! How the hell can that twit presume to know why god does something?
These people are just so full of themselves...and their followers do not even realize what schmucks they are for going along with this crap.

I will never forget when - I think it was Pat Robertson, or Oral Roberts- one of those dimwitted fanatic televangelists- needed money for his school. He appealed to his "followers" to contribute money because he said that god had spoken to him and was going to "take him" if the money was not found. I had never heard such a line of bs in my life!!! My first thought was that if this guy really meant all the crap he preached, he should have been thrilled that god was going to take him.

14. That was Oral Roberts
An 80-foot Jesus came to him and told him that he needed to raise that money or else.
The only solice I ever took in that whole affair was that the majority of that money came from wealthy donors.

5. So why did God send them last year and the year before that?
Let me guess: Something to do with gay people.

Shouldn't there be massive wildfires in the other states that had Prop 8 protests over the weekend? And why is Massachusetts still standing?

By this way, this preacher is an "ex-gay."

The dude now thinks gays are possessed by demons. Yeah, definitely froth at the brain. He now spends his days battling "corrupt homosexuals" in San Diego.

9. Oh no, another Ted Haggard?
Why don't these guys get together and make their own loving, welcoming church that preaches the exact opposite of the hate they're spewing now?

I mean there's enough of them, they all follow the same path and end up in the same situation.

I guess hate is easier somehow.

11. James Hartline Watch

http://www.hillquest.com/community/jhartline.htm

James Hartline Watch
This Hillcrest resident and former gay man has personally spearheaded many anti-gay and other moralistic crusades in the last few years.

It’s because of his experiences that he says he knows there is an evil conspiracy afoot in Hillcrest — an organized effort among homosexuals to lure individuals into the gay lifestyle, drugs, prostitution and pornography, and to intentionally spread the AIDS virus. “There is a whole network of this very dark criminal activity going on in this neighborhood,” Hartline says.

Over the past few years, Hartline has also ratcheted up his criticism of politicians he deems to be corrupt or hypocritical due to their stances on a variety of so-called “moral issues.”

Who is James Hartline?
A short bio at Agape Press
(a Christian news source)

A long bio at SD News Notes
(a Catholic news letter)

Someone needs to expose Hartline for what he really is — an uptight, self-righteous, moral policeman who has nothing better to do than take on the role of school principal. He's using his moral superiority to scare city council members into banning groups like Naturally California from practicing their right to peaceably assemble.

13. were the wildfires that decimated san diego last year a pretemptive strike?
god knows everything after all, so he saw that 25,000 san diegans would march for gay marriage in november 2009, so he thought he'd just teach them a lesson a year early?

the stupidity of these people amazes me.
