Earlier this year Fr. Roy participated in the ordination of several women into the priesthood and now faces excommunication by the vatican.

2. That's the price people in established institutions pay for being ahead of their time
Four hundred years ago the punishment would have been much worse.

Blessings upon you, Fr. Bourgeois. May you walk in righteousness and fear no evil.

3. I know it's an old complaint, but why is raping children not excommunicatable,
but doing something that harms no one - except the power structure of male-centric power-hungry Catholic upper echelon sitting on a fortune of trillions of dollars of treasures - leads to excommunication, defrocking, and other penalties.

Oh, wait, I guess I answered that myself.

4. God loves him even more when he faces evil. God will be with him if he leaves.
the church can go to extinction without his grace.
