Did Republicans just admit that Katherine Harris stole 2000 election for Bush?
By John Amato

This is too much. The Republicans are basically admitting that Katherine Harris stole the election for George Bush.

Republicans are also questioning the credibility of Minnesota’s Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, the man tasked with overseeing the recount. A background document distributed by national Republicans portrays Ritchie as a far-left, Democratic version of Katherine Harris, the former Republican secretary of state whose actions helped decide the 2000 presidential election. The document accuses Ritchie, who was elected in 2006 with the assistance of a progressive-led group designed to elected Democratic election administrators, of having connections to the controversial voter registration group ACORN and the Communist Party of America.

As Al Franken gets closer to victory, the Republicans are unraveling. A recount is definitely on its way. Oh, what fun...

3. It wasn't just Katherine Harris, of course
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 07:43 PM by Art_from_Ark
She had a lot of help-- from the yuppie riots at Miami-Dade that disrupted the vote counting, to the double counting of bush votes, to Republican-turned-"Democrat" Teresa LaPore's confusing butterfly ballot, to the insistence of Judge Sander Sauls (who later accepted an invitation to a freeper event in South Carolina) that the Democrats send up two or three truckloads of ballots from Dade County to Leon County, only to refuse to examine them once they arrived three days later, to the Florida legislator who stated that even if Gore won the count, the legislature would still award the state's electoral votes to bu$h...

There were plenty of members of the Florida rogues' gallery involved with the 2000 election shenanigans

4. Yes and the big 16,000 votes that flipped magically in Volusia where I live.
That disappeared for Gore and mysteriously flipped for some unknown.

5. It seems like they used every low-down, dirty, underhanded trick
they could to get Idiot Boy installed. It still makes me seethe every time I think about it.

6. Because of everything that followed the steal, nothing was legit thereafter.
That's the way I see it, and many others I speak with. It was one nasty, wretched house of cards to begin with. And I hope historians portray the truth of it as an example of what can happen when the public goes to sleep.

7. I see it that way, too.
Illegitimate from the beginning. That's why I never use the title "President" with that man's name.

9. I also cringe each time I hear someone say "We elected bu$h"
We did not-- there were at least a half million more American voters (and likely many more than that) who voted for Gore than bu$h, and the Florida vote counting was stopped before thousands of votes could be counted, by bu$h's campaign co-chair, among other people. We elected Gore, damn it all, and our choice was taken away from us.
