Tired of Politics! Bring on The Holidays
The election's over. I'm tired of the bickering and backbiting of the campaigns, and ready for the Holidays. To that end, here's a bit of whimsy I put in my front yard. Santa Goes Bass Fishing.

1. And by January we will be ready to kill ourselves
Who in their right mind thinks that an inflatable Santa in a boat lined with Christmas lights in the front yard is tasteful?

Then again, who decided that lights had anything to do with Christmas and that our houses should glow with them form Thanksgiving through the first of the year to celebrate Christmas, a holiday that has turned into nothing more than a shop 'til you drop event.

Bah humbug

2. It makes people happy! I carry a 20 bulb strand of lights with me nearly everywhere...
plug 'em in and folks just love to see it. Particularly at my seat on Amtrak. The kids go apeshit.

3. Tasteful?
Who said anything about tasteful? I'm just getting started with my yard display. I have many more inflatables. My plan is to get my yard voted in as "Nuttiest Christmas Display" in the local paper.

It makes people laugh. That's a good thing.

13. I'd rather see an inflatable Santa in a boat bass fishing
than an inflatable Sarah Palin doll in a helicopter shooting wolves.

Just think, someone could come up with THAT for a cheery Christmas lawn decoration.

7. crap is already up in stores and radio ads include the usual brainwashing tunes already :-)
after all its not the meek that inherit the earth, its the advertisers and wealthy. There are flocks to be fleeced even in the Bush recession.

OR....the believers could do something to help their fellows instead of spending money they don't have on stuff made in China.

14. Billo the Clown: "Yarr! Its the WAR on Christmas!!!"
The best salvo in Bill's "war" was when Sam Seeder debated Billo two years ago. Classic!

15. Noooo, some of us have REALLY nasty relatives who
take great delight in bringing up politics, and it's so nasty that my family has a choice to either say something or leave. I'm still basking in the glow of the election...please don't bring me down into holiday hell!
