I knew he couldn't stay away very long. Fred Phelps to Protest Obama's Grandmother's Funeral
WBC to picket the funeral of Madelyn Payne Dunham, - pursuant to the picketing laws of Hawaii or Kansas or, etc., wherever burial occurs, - in religious protest and warning to the living; to wit: "Prepare to meet thy God." Amos 4:11.

Yes. Dying time is truth time, and reflection time, and time for meditating on the weighty issues of life: getting right with God, life, death, Heaven, hell, sin, righteousness, judgment to come, etc. Obama says his grandmother Dunham raised him, and, her "influence on his manner and the way he viewed the world was substantial." If so, then she has much to answer for as she stands before the Lord. Obama says he will use the White House as a Bully Pulpit to advance the cause of murdering more babies and same-sex marriage. "God hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by Christ." Acts 17:31.

1. Fred Phelps' own funeral will be met with the MOTHER of all protests.

8. Phelps won't care. He'll be dead.
If he would have showed up at my father's funeral I would have punched him in the face. I gurantee he would have noticed that.

24. Oh no, no protest -- just a celebration.
Dancing in the streets. ;-)

Of course, the whiffs of sulfur and brimstone may make the celebration less exuberant. But just remember that Phred's zipcode starts 666.

9. The good news
Every time he does this and it makes the news, it makes people question their ultra-conservative views. I've had a couple of people say to me that they've "started to question the company they're keeping" and this is the kind of thing that gets more moderate religious people's minds to open.

11. I imagine that they will be pretty much clamped down by security
Can't have a bunch of lunatics too close to the President ya know. Maybe they can set them up in a "free speech" zone. And wouldn't most of Hawaii be a "constitution free" zone? Since they are islands, I would imagine that the whole state is constitution free.. It sucks to be Fred these days.

12. There are no words vile enough to describe that despicable creature.

If he were to provoke someone into scoring a major physical smackdown on his sorry twisted ass, I can't imagine a jury in the land that wouldn't thank that person for performing a long overdue community (national) service.

What a disgrace, that mofo makes my stomach churn.

23. Meh...
This kind of silliness has been around a lot longer that the GOP.

As my grandfather's Theological professor (Seminary - Episcopal) said on the first day of class - 'Man is no damn good'

I know some good conservative people (being a grownup means dealing politely with people you encounter daily - even if you disagree with them). I know some crappy liberals.

Everyone out there has the ability to be a bastard - regardless of political affiliation.

I know many conservatives that voted for Barack Obama and are happy that he won. Not everyone that you disagree with is a demon.

Fred Phelps (and his incestuous little clan) are hate and lies personified.

I will piss on his grave when the time comes.

for someone who thinks he's very 'religious', he needs to ROT IN HELL forevermore.

25. Fred Phelps and his "church" make baby Jesus cry.
He is no Christian. He's an asshole, plain and simple. And I will celebrate the day he is no longer with us. If there is a hell, there is a special place there for Phelps and his followers.
