I guess the Democrats slipping language in the Farm Bill “Closing the Enron Loop Hole” which excluded Energy Speculators from SEC regulations didn’t have a thing to do with the current gas prices

Shame was they had to “sneak” it into the Farm Bill because all the Republicans kept filibustering any attempts of enacting the legislation. And you wonder why so many states voted for Obama

by bringing down the world's economy

2. Every election year the price of gas drops.

I thought that may they were doing that to psych people into feeling good just before an election so they would vote for Bush but now I can't go with that. I think it's more that people are out of a job and less people are driving. Here in Florida where we depend on snow birds and tourists our economy has been on the downward slide because we are not seeing snow birds and tourists. I checked on booking a room down in the keys for Thanksgiving and found everything is vacant for that weekend.

3. The oil companies brought down gas prices

Their defenders in the Republican party are on the run, and they know the jig is up. Time to grab the billions and skedaddle. Gas prices are now returning to earth, to the surprise of nobody who watched what was happening during the run up. Oil prices went up when production facilities were damaged; oil prices went up when production facilities weren't damaged; oil prices went up when production was up; oil prices went up when consumption was down. It didn't make any market sense, except to the extent that a small coterie of greedy bastards had the power to keep jacking things up, secure that no one in government was going to get too exercised about it.
