Don't BUY Inauguration Tickets - they are FREE.
I saw a news report that people are paying thousands for Inauguration Tix on ebay and craigslist..Fake, Fake, Fake.

It's always been a Peoples Event, of course, the private soiree's for the Big Donors, are not being sold :patriot:

1. Tickets to President Obama's inauguration are FREE for Registered Democrats!
Republicans must buy them on Craig's List.

At least, that's what I'm telling everyone.

3. unless you're really someome special
. . . even with tickets you'll probably be so far back that you'll barely be able to see the podium.

Best spot for the bulk of us is near one of the speakers with a clear shot down the middle. They corral the folks pretty good though. And, ticket holders were even as far back as the folks without tickets on the sidelines.

7. No they're not....
It's a People's Event, what is your "Repuke" Rep's name. I'll check it out for you. He IS LYING. You can PM me.

Everyone's invited to line Penn Ave, or whatever the route is this year.

9. These are the reserved tickets
Yes, if I want to sit far back (like by the FDR memorial) or show up 2 days ahead of time I can get a place on the Mall. And I may do that. But the reserved seats are taken.

The reps name is Kingston. We were quite respectful to his office staff. People are already asking 2K and up a ticket for these seats on Craigslist. When big money is involved tickets get scarce.

Anyone how thinks they can just show up and see Obama, either at the Inaugural or along the parade route, is delusional. There are way more people than space for this one. I saw Clinton's second Inaugural, and it was nothing like this will be.

11. Hey Savannah!
I know the chances of seeing him are small, but a part of me really wants to be there. So do my son daughter and husband. And I fully realize the crowd it will make draw will make those huge anti-war protests we've been to in DC will seem like DC was a ghost town in comparison.

12. I feel exactly the same way
I have a 10 year old who should see this, but don't know if I should put him through the discomfort. Maybe.

But they've been going to various protests, etc

For several years, I guess the first one was in Sept 02 for the DC actions.

And we went to the SOAW in Columbus for a year or two before that.

10 is not necessarily too young, but you do need to set down a plan ahead of time of what to do if you somehow get separated.

8. Democrats get tickets for free. Scalpers will be selling tickets to Republicans in D.C., but...
... you need to know the correct "Code words" to get these tickets.

If someone on the sidewalk in D.C. is whispering the word "smoke," you have to ask the person for some "bud" if you want to get inaugural tickets.

If the cops catch on, (because only Democrats are supposed to get the free tickets) then some people might be walking around asking if you would like a "date," as in a date to the inauguration. If someone asks you if you want a "date," Republicans must ask them how much they want for a "trip up and around the world." Or, if the Republican is on a budget, they can ask for the cheap seats on the outer rim, and should ask for a "rim job."

10. Nothing to do what my OP warns.....
For the General Public, you don't need a ticket.

It's not Republicans, Democrats or Naderites......it's a scam.

I grew up in DC, we lined the streets, we celebrated the New President, then went home.

These "tickets" seem to be a joke to you IanDB1, I'm sorry.
