What do we win, if we win in Iraq?
I'm at a lost, I can't think of anything there to win.

We don't win the country
We don't win hearts and minds
We don't win the GWOT cause we all know that the terrorists are everywhere and Iraq is not the heart of terrorism
We don't win our honor
We don't win our reputation
We don't win a chicken in every pot
We don't win control over our own destinies
We don't win the energy race
We don't win the 'best military' kudos
We don't win the future of the middle east
We don't even win redeeming George Bush's reputation

5. Not my question and I agree with you.
I just want to develop a strategy for the 'give Petreus a chance to win' rhetoric.

7. Who is WE?
WE the American people? Uh-Uh...

WE is certain members of the plutocratic ruling class who can make billions off of this exercise. Also they get to divide the nation politically and force many good Americans into voting for abject monsters in the Republican party who spew forth lies like noble blood, "cut-n-run", support the troops.

8. We will have gotten away with killing off a bunch of non-christian brown people
and will have made sure an oil rich country is not under the control of non-christian brown people.

Plus we get to give all the resources of the country over to the global elites.

And we have a place to call our own in the middle east where we can base our next wave of killing off a bunch of non-christian brown people.

In other words, we will have won the Crusade.

11. A New World Order...
and a heck of a lot of money for international corporations such as the VP's company, while at the same time driving the USA into an economic hole it may never be able to climb out of, so that the elites can claim that we have no other choice but to become part of a global government run by global corporations, for the benefit of global corporations.
