4. Let's see
Some of them think the protest is only against them.
They don't see the difference between civil unions and marriage.

6. Here's one about DU
http://www.lds.net/forums/preserve-marriage-yes-prop-8-102/15595-wow-some-liberals-doing-boycotts-mormon-businesses.html#post283445

" Wow, some liberals are doing boycotts on Mormon businesses.
I am not going to link this (since there are bad words, really bad words, directed at Mormons at the site) but I went to a title at Democratic Underground.com (probably the largest on-line Democrat-oriented activist discussion forum on the net) and found a title "Mormon-owned businesses to shun in honor of Prop.8". Wow, the hate directed at the Church isn't all coming from gay activists. Next thing you know someone's going to support erecting a statue to Governor Boggs in San Francisco or LA.

16. Well, at least they are literate... It is quite different from FREEPER
world.... But, their sincerity is pretty poignant as you know most will never question the position of the church... Pays to brainwash at an early age, I guess.

12. Sure they do.
If they didn't see the difference, they wouldn't have bothered with Prop 8 in the first place.

5. Now this is just too damn funny....
Thread title: "Please pray for our brothers and sisters in CA"

A dear friend just informed me that the male members of the church are being called to add their support to the security at LA Temple. They are expecting a riot at the LA Temple. She didn't know if the other temples are having the same problems.

Please pray for members in CA. They are under fire for standing up for what is right and for following our prophet.

No, that's not the funny part. The name of the person who posted this thread? applepansy

7. Bizarre indeed. Cult.
I never had any particularly strong feelings either way about the Mormons; I thought the whole "angel Moroni" thing bizarre, but live and let live.

Except they are now mobilizing their religion in a single-minded political pursuit of controlling others, and beating down others. This, I cannot accept. They can preach all they want; hell, even Fred Phelps can do that. But to underwrite entire political campaigns as they did with Prop 8 is just not acceptable. They claim it wasn't the church that funded Prop 8, it was the members. Who were, of course, told to do so by the church.

Cult.

Pull their tax-exempt status.

19. He sure did. I have no doubt whatsoever that was how he came up with the name.
He was a treasure-hunting flim-flam man. And not thought highly of in his community, to say the least.

9. You should see what the Mormons have tried to do to ...
... the Mormon page on the Truthiness Encyclopedia.

http://www.wikiality.com/Mormon

They're always trying to delete the underwear picture, remove all the content, etc.

We even had one guy try to claim copyright infringement.

So sad.

20. What business does the Mormon church have interfering in government..
to take away people's rights based on their cult doctrines?

This sets a dangerous precedent.

Anyone who cares about personal liberty should be protesting the church.

It's revolting that they would spend millions of dollars on a campaign to take away human rights when there are so many sick and starving people in the world. I was raised in a Christian household and the Mormon's actions fly in the faces of everything I was taught.
