Next time some fucking redneck near you is slagging Canada, send them this. It was originally in the Sunday Times of London.

names of the others yet.

10. There was one battle in a wood or spinney in WWII, I believe, in which the Canadians
played a major role and suffered terrible casualties.

3. I just tell them to go f* themselves.
Canada was involved in both world wars nearly from the start. I had a 17 year old great uncle who lied about his age to enlist, was sent to the front lines immediately, captured, starved and worked to death in a German prison camp. My grandfather was drafted as a young man even though he had a heart condition and suffered with the after-effects of being gassed for the rest of his life. Yep, when the arrogant assholes scoff at our military, I just keep it short and sweet.

7. Thank you for posting! Kick and Rec!
It seems some people will always hate the reality that is historical fact.

8. Well, I tried once, on a right wing British forum a few years ago
I trolled there for a couple of days, questioning why they, as self-proclaimed Conservatives, were supporting the Labour government on increasing the time the police could detain people without charge from 14 days to 90. As my parting shot when I got banned (because they wanted authoritarians there, not conservatives with an idea of civil liberties), I questioned why the 'Anglosphere' they had defined didn't include Canada (or New Zealand) - they'd made it up of UK, USA, Australia and Israel. And I pointed out that since it was November 11th I was writing this on, they should be ashamed of themselves.

The point went right over their heads. On Remembrance Day, they were thinking not, as you might expect a proper conservative to do, of countries that had stood by Britain in the past, but instead they supported only countries keen on the current illegal war in Iraq. Of course, since Harper got in as Canadian PM later, the site has now added Canada into their 'Anglosphere'. And it looks like New Zealand has got added in the past few days, presumably because a centre-right party just got in there. Bunch of hypocrites.

9. Canadian blood has been spilled more than any other nation for causes that don't directly affect us.

911.. were we attacked? WW2, were we attacked? WW1, were we attacked? Korea, Bosnia, it goes on and on.

(When I say directly, I mean immediately)
