Name your top 5 choices for Democratic nominee for Prez!
Here are my picks for Democratic nominee in 2008.

1. Al Gore
1. Dennis Kucinich (TIE)
3. Barack Obama
4. Wesley Clark
5. John Edwards

I think I am slowly warming up to the idea of Barack Obama running. He is smart, has charisma, and he is of the post-baby boom generation (Like me!). He has a fresh new outlook on things and he did not nor does not support the war in Iraq.

So name your 5!

John

2. Gore is my first choice
My "Plan B" would be to support whoever Al Gore decides to endorse.

But to be honest I'm not sure we need another thread on this ...

Let's all find ways to show our support for Al Gore!

9. Jim Webb?
I don't think he is running and h just entered the Senate. Maybe he can run in 2016.

29. I was being half serious
I know he's not running & he just got elected to the Senate, but I really, really like him.

And my opinion of him grew after the SOTU rebuttal.

1. Wesley Clark
2. Al Gore
3. Dennis Kucinich

And that's it - all the rest are corporate war-voters.

15. Is Gore running?
Of the ones generally known to be running, I can only choose from 3 so far and only 2 of them I firmly trust without some doubt. The 3 are: Kucinich, Edwards, and Clark. The 2 with no reservations are Kucinich and Clark (because Edwards is somewhat beating the drums of war concerning Iran during this particularly dark time). But I really can't get my mind on 08 like the press and party wants me too yet. Too many serious things threaten us at this moment in 07. I'm also not forgiving about how we got here and the weak resistance to it.

16. If I could pick regardless of whether they've announced running:
(IN no particular order of importance)

Gore
Conyers
Boxer
Kucinich
Clark

Conyers and Boxer because they have worked tirelessly on the structure of our democracy to keep it intact, against overwhelming odds and fascist opposition. I think that kind of resolve will be required by whoever takes over the reigns.

Clark because I think his background and current attitudes about war would legitimize withdrawing troops, in addition to agreeing with much of his POV.

Kucinich, although he might not be electable, is more consistent on every level with my political views.

Gore, because I think the time is right for him to run again, and I think if he did, he'd win easily. I was very impressed with his actions in New Orleans and concerning Global Warming.

Even though I don't have anything against Obama, I think he's too new, he just got elected fer chrissakes. I want longer to see him in action over the long haul. A LOT of freshman congresscritters look good at first, and a great many of them get gradually corrupted. Some resist that pressure, some don't. I'd rather see how Obama, Webb, and other new folk do over at least longer than a year and half. But hey, that's just me.

I"m not fond of anyone connected with the DLC: I think a corporatist agenda is what has hurt us domestically thus far, and a hawkish agenda has hurt us in the global arena. DLC candidates usually are corporatist and centrist on hawkism, AT BEST.
I'll NEVER forget how important and essential Joe Leiberman was to the DLC. He was their shining guy. This speaks volumes to why I'm mistrustful of the think tank in general.

18. A lively thought: 2 Clintons and one Obama in the White House.

Leaving for work now, seems prudent.
